    Gender Locks?

I think that it is strange to be able to swap the genders of some heroes and not others. Given you can, for example, be a Female Viking Raider I fail to see why you can't be a Male Knight Peacekeeper. I can't see any reason to gender lock the classes so I am wondering if there is a technical reason for this or if it is just completely arbitrary and pointless.

They have mentioned there will be no gender locking. You have to be aware this is still a closed beta and is not yet a completed product.

In the loading screen when you read one of the tips it say:

"Warbringer, Warlord and Shi-something are exclusively male heroes."

Considering two of those characters are not even released yet this is not a Beta tip but for the complete game. It also means that Peacekeeper, Nob-something and Valkyrie are also exclusive female heroes.

Honestly, this is a dissapointment. It could have been much better if all classes had both genders rather than only some. The most logical reason is to why they have taken this path may be because they did not want to spend more money and time on both gender models and voices. But I mean this is Ubisoft so you can never really know...

There are some heroes where it doesn't make sense (i.e. like you said the peacekeeper). They also mention at the very start of the game, that this is not the finished product. You're merely playing a pre-production build of the game that is mostly functional. There are some heroes that SHOULD be gender locked (i.e. Viking's Valkyrie -- This would not make sense to have a male counterpart, unless it were named something else, seeing as this hero uses iconic viking weaponry, that were not limited to females -- i.e. Female = Valyrie, Male = Marauder or something?)

I understand to a degree; however, I'm male and main as Peacemaker. Doesn't bother me one bit that Peacemaker is female.

Otherwise, the only reason I would be upset about gender locking is because it does take away from the vast customization abilities this game offers. However, as stated, this is Beta. Not final copy.

Ubisoft is known for their attempts to include diversity. I don't think they would be sexist by denying you male opportunities in this game.

There should be a male and a female character for every class.

    Maybe except the Shugoki...
Would there then be a WarLADY?
