I don't know how consistently this applies to other characters, though. And this set up tells me that the start-up for the evasion is huge which means you gotta use hidden stance very early, as a defensive move.

Anotehr thing is that you can hold the input and even maintain the stance. Initially I thought holding the input didn't work, but it does. It's all about pointing down accurately.

And this brings another point. I would like a wider spectrum of the analog stick for this move. Right now, you have to point exactly down, which is kinda silly. It leads to some mistakes that could be avoided with better controls. I'm pretty sure they widen the spectrum a little bit,w ithout making people activate it by accident, when trying to side block.

And I'd like to ask a question: Can she really land a guaranteed Viper's Retreat after a long range parry? I had the impression she couldn't, but I might have done it wrong. And I couldn't test it consistently, because I could choose an AI Kensei or Nobushi to spar against.
Very few actually hold the stance, but you are right that it is indeed possible, and as such i have updated the guide to reflect it. I also updated the guides mention of the timing for the move.
Personally i think the guard system for it works completely fine? You have top, right, left and down guards, all are their own directions and are kinda hard to screw up really.
Can she land a viper's retreat after a parry you ask, and as far as i remember from the last test, it was entirely possible. I will try again next test however to double check this information.

Thanks. I'll try to remember to do it, too. I'm pretty sure I got on close range parries, against a Raider. But I don't remmeber if its guaranteed on long range parries against a Kensei, If it's not, then she is pretty screwed.

I totally agree that the hidden stance is ridiculously hard to do only because of the pinpoint accuracy you need to have with the stick.

That might be the reason why I also don't find the right timing to cancel my recoveries/heavies with it.

I wonder if this feedback of ours deserves its own thread. ^ It's kind of an important issue that would probably be easy to fix.

I had the same problem. Not realising the stance could be held because the game registered me as pushing slightly left or right along with down. I'd enter hidden stance for a second then break out. I think it should be brought more to the devs attention. Shouldn't be an issue with altering the deadzone a little.

I've been trying out some nobushi in the open beta, but I haven't figured out how I should follow up my parries. From what I've read guard break seems to be best option, followed by upper heavy attack. If guard break lands, will this heavy attack be guaranteed? Also, when I've tried for side heavies after parrying my opponent sometimes manages to block/dodge. In the guide side heavies were supposedly guaranteed after parry, is this only true vs some heroes?

Thanks for all the info so far though, been very helpful! Any tips on where I can read up on numbers related to timings, stun duration, etc? Seems like every time I wanna learn something I have to find a quote in some forum.

Thanks a lot for this great guide.
Do you have any advice what to do best against side dodges of the enemy?

    Great guide.

Is there a chance to add some move sets and combos in, think that would help.
