No problems!
Very straightforward with a couple exceptions
It was okay but a few things could be improved
Confusing with several problems
It was a mess!
Had trouble around the invite friends option at first. Then the links started working.
I was really excited for this. I watched the alpha videos, and the idea of a huge-scale medieval war game was really intriguing to me Now I've finally played and... i'm very disappointed. It turns out the biggest fight is 4v4... And as of yet I have only been able to get into a 2v2 game, and the only other human left. So I turned to Practice, in hopes that I would have fun battling against AI. But I inevitably get double- or triple-teamed by enemy heroes. I could only defeat an enemy hero when a teammate helped. Maybe i'm just bad. Maybe I'm not good enough to fight enemies who can predict my blows, know where to attack, and move faster than is possible for me. But should that really exclude me from playing? I was looking forward to a massive medieval battle game, with huge hordes of enemies, and ever-changing tactics, and if that had been delivered, I'd be okay with losing, with being killed. I really wanted to like this game. I really did. But judging from this? I'm gonna spend my 60 bucks on something worth my time.
EDIT: Longer post in the Combat Thread
Inviting was kind of a mess. Having to add someone as a Uplay friend in order to send them an invite made that a bit of a process, at least for me, given I only had one Uplay friend from real life. The ability to direct send an invite without having to add someone as a friend would have worked better.
Speaking of that one real life friend, he's still not in the beta. He somehow got the email to join the For Honor beta (the original registration email) and confused that, once he registered on that other external site, with being the email I was telling him he was going to get. We sorted that out and then he had forgotten his Uplay password and the Uplay site was somehow failing to authenticate his new password after he went through changing it (I think the Uplay site authentication was down for a while as I had some trouble logging in even though I could see the forums). I don't think he went back to look yet. That's on him, but he was easily frustrated with multiple sites to go to, multiple log ons and then the password not working. I'll follow up as I would like him to try it.
For me, it worked perfectly. I got a direct invite to the beta, so I could give out three invites. It was just a bit confusing to me as to where I had to go to send invites because I found my access to the beta and my key in Uplay management a day before I got the email which had the link to where I went to send invites.
I think certainly the process could have been streamlined.
You want feedback? Wipe this piece of trash from existence and start over. There is NOTHING good about this game. It's an unbelievably buggy, broken, and hilariously unbalanced mess undeserving of a 60 dollar price tag. There are no redeeming qualities. It is without a doubt the worst beta I have ever had the displeasure of participating in.Originally Posted by FredEx919 Go to original post
PLEASE EVERYONE OUT THERE DON'T PISS AWAY YOUR MONEY ON THIS. JUST WAIT TO SEE IF IT GETS BETTER OVER TIME.
I had to verify and redownload ~2gb in order to play
But otherwise pretty smooth signing up experience
First off, I'm a fan so far. The game is the first to offer a (comfortably) steep learning curve in awhile. While I thoroughly enjoy the game so far, I have still not been able to connect to an online match. I keep receing (network err 0004000008) I have checked everything on my end, even reinstalling. I just want to play the PvP
I was an technical test 2 (alpha) tester. I didn't have any problems inviting friends (my invites did reset with success so I could invite 3 new persons). I enjoyed the ability to predownload (a luxury I don't know if was available in technical test 2 as I was invited late) and though I had problems running the game it seems like my antivirus (F-Secure) was the problem. Not the first time I had this problem with a game and certainly wouldn't be the last. It can't be blamed on the developers as F-Secure is very aggresive in defense and I have had fully released games triggering the antivirus program (examples are dead space and amnesia). I had no problems accessing the forums either.
I would say you should continue this signup process maybe with a small improvement to how friends are notified of their invitation (maybe a popup in the uplay client that tells about the invitation lying in their mail or something like that).
As title says everything worked fine for me getting into the Beta but my friend I invited 2 days ago still has not received the invite email.
I have logged a support case but have not heard anything yet. Really disappointed.
Recieved the Beta Notification in time, with enough time to sent out my three invites and preloaded the game, without speed limitation from uplay. The only problem was that somehow the downloaded files were corrupted and i had to download it again when i tried to play (couldnt test for corrupted files beforehand).
Obviously there are a lot of crashes and bugs, but the beta was pretty well organized.
Had no issues signing up and playing beta. Playing on PS4
