In the top, I love Blackbeard. Both. And I think like name giver pirate, the operator has similar mechanic concept: violent pushing.
If you know about Blackbeard (pirate) a little bit, you should remembered that he was a massive man with, who instilled fear to enemies (and ally too). The operator, in my mind, should have the same idea: brutal initiation force.
So my suggestion is remove shield's slowdown and increase speed of shields' change. I think that with this improvements Blackbeard will become more usefull in team play, especially in the hostage mode.
I hope my opinion at least will give developers push to mindful games about Blackbeard improvement.
Thanks for your time.
After playing him quite a while now after latest nerf, I must say he's not that bad, I still get the occasional WTF moment but I record the gameplay and go back to it and see that it actually was correct or not something weird.
his shield still has protected me more than couple of times, if they are going to re-balance him then I suggest they do make swapping shields faster because it's somewhat dreadful to swap these
I agree. He's not bad. Just outclassed.Originally Posted by Validus_DRO Go to original post
What you, and many others fail to grasp, is that an operator is defined by his gadget. Would you take his cardboard over Thermite? Hibana? Sledge? Buck? Thatcher? Monty? Twitch? Shall I go on, or are you understanding my point? BB's shield just doesn't do enough for the operator when compared to others.
Doesn't do enough for the operator or for the team. All the others you mention have more team-based gadgets that benefit the entire team instead of the operator himself. I personally wish they would just rework BB entirely and give him a different gadget that is more team-oriented.Originally Posted by dude02468 Go to original post
Yeah. The idea of hi isn't OP, because he has MANY counters. Whiners will whine though.Originally Posted by Tevetot Go to original post
And that's he's weakness. He doesn't have that role like everyone else have. "I blow holes to tough walls and he can pump rooms full of grenades. What do bring to the team?" "Nothing. I have a flimsy shield covering my face and an underpowered rifle." "Right, we're bringing a french girl whose gadget actually benefits whole team and whose rifle is awesome instead of yours."Originally Posted by dude02468 Go to original post
There's really no reason to pick him if you want to help the team. I have only played him once or twice since the nerf. The ADS time is way too slow. I didn't play him much before the nerf anyway since his gadget was never very team-oriented. For year 2, I wish they would rework him entirely.Originally Posted by ag SpurguPate Go to original post
Not all operators HAVE to have a gadget that DIRECTLY helps the team, take for example the following :Originally Posted by Tevetot Go to original post
Glaz
Buck
Kapkan
Tachanka
Blitz
IQ
Castle
Pulse
Sledge
Smoke
they all support their team in away, whether it's directly like Doc healing you or Rook giving you armor, or indirectly by killing opponents such as kapkan, or by slowing them down like Smoke or Castle
some play supportive role and some aggressive, just like Glaz this operator (Blackbeard) is an aggressive one, and if played right you can do 2-3 kills, even with latest nerf I can still manage to get 1-3 kills out of him. don't believe me? check my stats
My friend just posted on here in a moronic way, using my account...setting that aside.Originally Posted by Validus_DRO Go to original post
Wrong, BB should be someone who holds down corridors. An offensive Tachanka. Shields are, inherently defensive. Not aggressive. BB, however, can't do this anymore.
