I just got a new bass and it has lead to slightly different calibration issues. (bass is 5 string with two passive EMG pickups and a preamp)
Tonight I had just started the app and I could clearly hear my bass through the speakers after a moment. I went into Session mode and the tuner came up at the normal time. Based on the auto coming out of the speakers, I was getting a pretty strong signal but while tuning the E I had a message box pop up telling me my volume was too low and I needed to recalibrate, with an (A) prompt below it. I pressed A and nothing happened. I was able to complete the tuner requirements and session mode began with the error box still over the screen. The error box stayed up through the main menu and even after manually recalibrating through the tuner. I had to close down the app to get it to go away.

Did you make sure you did not have emulated bass enabled?

I am certain I did not have emulated bass on. Also, my volume was up all the way, the eq on the bass was level, and I had the pickups balanced between bridge and neck.

Did you get the new patch today? That seems to have fixed the tuner for me, although it can hang when trying to go back to the menu, but it gets there eventually.
