Around the 5:35- 5:44 Mark of this video he says the whole team is customized including gender, appearance, gear, clothing, etc. but they maintain distinct personalities so Midas will be Midas no matter what he or she looks like.

Cort got it here, the game devs usually refers to the players as the in-game character they are playing as, like how Bungie usually call all their players Guardians, or how Splinter Cells for Splinter Cell fans, or Operators in some other game community if I remember correctly, Pilots in Titanfall, and other things I don't remember. so don't hope much except that our character will be customizable
