I stopped playing roughly around August/September and haven't picked it up again until the other day and obviously there have been a number of changes.
Even though i think i have got to grips with most of the changes, I do have a couple of questions.
I tend to prefer running DPS, because thats just how I roll. I have seen a couple of videos suggesting that the defensive gear set and an SMG/Shield combo can get insane results but I don't feel its for me, I am not a fan of the shield. So the question here is what is considered the best DPS set up these days other than the defensive gear set and SMG/Shield Combo?
I was previously running with a Striker gear set, but because of the first round of nerfs which changed the stats and moved the main bonus to 5 pieces then the removal of the fifth piece bonus, this is obviously no longer viable. I have played with a few different set pieces but haven't really bothered getting a set together because i didn't like the look of the bonuses so have currently settled on an Alpha bridge set, with a pair of savage gloves (AR bonus damage). However I feel i am missing a trick because i was lucky enough to get barrels chest piece but my current best set up means using the chest slot for a piece of Alpha Bridge (i don't have better gear pieces and the barren chest piece rolled with no bonus armour and electronics as the main stat.
That brings me to stats - what are considered reasonable figures these days? i currently have 346k DPS, 401K toughness and 105k Skillpower (because of a specialised backpack). Unfortunately my armour rolls have been a little lacking so my mitigation is just over 51% with armour as the bonus on all but one of my mods.
Obviously this is a DPS build but would there be any advantage to dropping firearms a bit in order to increase toughness beyond slightly increased survivability?
Lastly i should add that I am mainly a PvE player but am not adverse to dipping my toes in the Dark Zone
Did you pick up that awesome Lightweight M4 at the terminal the week before last?Originally Posted by TheSoupladel Go to original post
Well you're on the right track. Armour mitigation is ok, just keep collecting better gear and weapons. You seem to have a good understanding.Originally Posted by TheSoupladel Go to original post
Skill Up has a good vendor reset video if you want to see what there is to buy, if you haven't visited every vendor. There is a good AK-47 for sale but I don't remember where. Like Dyn4mo said just keep collecting.Originally Posted by TheSoupladel Go to original post
