Since there hasn't been a GOOD DZ hating thread today, I thought I'd start one which could carry the flag, so here it is. Basically it's a few pointers that make MY DZ runs more fun, some of which took a while to dawn on me and some of which only really became apparent following 1.5.
- The DZ is a PVP enviroment where, every so often, you can farm. Nowadays if you are farming in the DZ you are doing something wrong in efficiency terms. Yes, you can farm in there, but there's faster farm methods with no risk of losing your loot.
- There's so much loot in the DZ that dying and losing your loot really is irrelevant. Up until 1.3 losing your loot could anger you, nowadays you really shouldn't care about what's in your bags. Lost it? You are 180 seconds away from having your bags full again if that's what you crave. Of course, you may lose it again. So see 1.
- The DZ is a lot more fun in a group. Yes, you can solo, but soloing makes you an easier target for groups and whilst it's not a guarantee strength in numbers is a factor.
- Hip Fire. Do it. Console or PC, just do it.
- Use a mic at all times. Even if it's just to say Hello, Rogues south or Help. It's really just about all you need to say and you'll stay alive for longer.
- Whatever mediocre players say, skill is a big factor in the DZ. It's not run and gun (though there IS a lot of running at times) so knowing when to turn, when to reload, when to push, when to heal or when to use cover are big factors.
- You really shouldn't enter the DZ expecting a red carpet. You may avoid PVP for a while but more often than not it will find you. So if you're not AT ALL going to PVP might as well tell everyone in your group you are in it for the farm. You'll get a few extractions in (with luck, DZ 6 is usually the best place for farming) and eventually, probably, get shredded by players looking to PVP/be annoying. Once that happens, server change.
- Most people in the DZ are having a blast. Sometimes at your own expense. Get over it and have it at theirs.
- Don't be afraid to pull the trigger first. Han Solo did it. And they were going to shoot you anyway. What's there to lose? 30 seconds rogue penalty? Bring it on.
- Don't go to that bleeding spot in DZ2, it defeats the purpose. Yeah, run your timer off at times, when there's too many people chasing you and all that. But that ladder? I can't imagine why some people's deffinition of fun is holing up and shooting seekers at people below.
Did I miss something?
Oh c'mon! I'm just trying to make the DZ a better place!Originally Posted by Nopvedz4you Go to original post

Ok, perhaps it's better to say that I'm trying to share my experience in the DZ, which mostly consisted of PVE until November when I saw the light and started doing mostly PVP so that people have a clearer picture of how it works. Not saying it's how it SHOULD work, but rather how it works these days.Originally Posted by xTheCripplerx Go to original post
Ugh, gawd not another DZ thread....Universe please send a meteor towards me and let it obliterate me. Please!!
Meanwhile...
I'm on ps4.
Lately DZ05 and 06 has become a nightmare to farm. So much Rogue activity it's not even funny. But it is.
You're right about the loot. You can extract 5 times more, way more than what you can lose. I've learned that the real cancerous, filthy, human excrement players that actually insist on persecuting you is minimal.
On the average, you get murdered once and after that you're pretty much left alone. So it's not bad at all.
I've taken to farming blue and purple caches. Its quite a riot when they cut your rope and no one steals your blue crap lol.
Then you have the reverse sometimes. One single player goes Rogue, not rouge, on a 4 man team. My group kept getting attacked the other night by one dude. Of course we murdered him every single time he would attack us. It was quite funny.
The thing you're missing is that all the people who get smacked about in the dz are too stubborn to take others advice and would rather cry on the forums about how bad the dz is instead of trying to get good.Originally Posted by LepantoESP Go to original post
Also I like the ladder spot in dz2 it's soo much fun putting numerous people on their arse![]()
Another victim of the dz, so sad.Originally Posted by xTheCripplerx Go to original post
I asked a Rogue group nicely once, to let me come up the ladder and just watch. They killed me twice. I kept asking. They eventually let me up the ladder and let me watch.Originally Posted by Nopvedz4you Go to original post
They would ask politely if they could test out their guns on me. I said sure.
So they would shoot me and not kill me. I kept watching them kill other players trying to kill them. After 5 minutes I was pretty much "done" with PVP lol. I thanked them and went down the ladder, watched from the bottom. One of the players that was trying to kill them, came up to me and just shot and killed me point blank! Lol!
The whole experience was pretty cool but after 5 minutes, the novelty just wore off rather quickly.![]()
Yeah, that Ladder ... Boring as hell. The only positive thing is that people gravitate towards it at some stage so if you're looking to shoot other players, you're almost guaranteed to find them there. A little unfair to call that the game's only PVP, as it's the only spot I can think of that's accessible via a ladder and only one ladder (all other spots have multiple entrances/ladders), but hey it IS part of the DZ so it's part of the game too.Originally Posted by TheToxicAgent Go to original post
