DLC are very poor and expensive!
Massive is showing itself as a very unprofessional with this game and it's community!
Little of both.Originally Posted by googlebright Go to original post
Season pass was $30. That's hardly expensive.Originally Posted by Kourteous Go to original post
Dude, I can get a AAA game for that price. And it might not be expensive to you but A: It's DLC, not a whole new game. At most it's a minigame. Anything beyond $15 is a joke IMO. and B: We're still paying the SAME PRICE as what we paid for what should be a whole game ($30 EACH from steam winter sale if I remember correctly)... that isn't even fully done and fleshed out yet. So the fact that there's even DLC at all before that's even been done fully is a joke in and of itself.Originally Posted by Arafys Go to original post
Let alone the fact that this is content that was ALREADY MADE AND PRETTY MUCH READY TO BE IN THE GAME ON RELEASE!
Acceptable DLC is stuff made AFTER a game. Not before/during. We basically been slapped with day 1 DLC. It's just been held back to disguise that fact and to be balanced more. But look at the base game itself. Far, far from balanced. The only thing survival has got right is that everyone's on the same playing field which keeps things fair and interesting and entirely depending on skill with a small dose of luck. No "win" builds or anything like that. But that's how the whole game should be. Not just survival.
Considering everyone's using alpha FAMAS and firecrest it's no wonder people can like survival. Because it's not doing a lot of things so very wrong that's happening in none survival DZ. But that's not a case of survival being good. It's simply being "not bad" with the rest of the game being at fault to make it more appealing. Sometimes it almost feels like it's been done that way on purpose just to get people to get the DLC... and if that is indeed the case then it is simply a practice that should not be supported IMO.
Fix the rest of the game first. Then toss out DLC. That's how other games do it. This game doesn't get a free pass "Because hardly expensive to you". It's not about the blasted price alone. it's the principle of the thing. Which for me is "Main game done first, then other stuff."
I mean, if the base game isn't up to par then how on earth are people going to be interested enough to even consider DLC? No wonder survival has long waiting times for the matches.
Fortunately I've never experienced this but it sounds worrying so early into its life, I think they may need to increase the rewards or something to try to get more people playing. But what I've noticed is that alot of people ain't very good at survival so maybe this is also putting people off, although I'd hate it if it was made any easier.

yp nothing but garbage after garbage but i must say the effect in the survival is good and why don't we have this effect in standard game mod ???Originally Posted by Aaron_Clover Go to original post
This was obviously going to be a problem at some point. Did Massive plan for what to do when this happens, or are they making plans now that it is an issue? Who knows.
A shame if they didn't put in some plan to allow for the game to launch without a full lobby. Heck, It would be fine as a SP experience.
If they don't, it will only serve to actually send the game mode into a spiral, as at first a few people will have some long waits to join, then they will give up and more people will experience the long waits, and so it goes.
If they don't change the launch requirements, the game mode will become literally unplayable.
Sorry, but that IS expensive for what we got. I don't know about elsewhere, but in Canada, the game cost me $80 when it first came out.Originally Posted by Arafys Go to original post
Given that the dlc cost about half of the original game, then I think it's quite reasonable to expect at LEAST a 50% expansion to the original game, given that much of the new content in the game is based on original content and didn't need to be developed from scratch. That means 50% more story, dialogue, map, weapons, gear, and missions.
Do you feel that the season pass is going to meet that 50%+ threshold? I don't believe it will.
Do you believe that the season pass plus a year 2 season pass would at least double the game size and content? I'd like to be proven wrong, but I doubt it.
Consequently, imo, the season pass is simply too expensive for what it provides in return. As such, I believe that the problem of finding other players to fill the game mode is just going to become a bigger problem as time goes on, and more players realize that further investment just doesn't justify the cost...
