This is what medieval Romans actually looked like
(Because, for some reason, everyone forgets that the Byzantines were still the Roman Empire)
Anyway, I doubt they'd be a completely new faction. Don't forget that the Knights of Ashfeld were sent by the Iron Legion. It would make sense for them to have Roman/Byzantine inspired heroes and influences. At most, they'd probably be more like a Knight sub-faction.
As for a proper separate 4th faction? I still stand by the idea of a Middle Eastern faction with warriors such as the
The Ghilman/Ghulam
The Mamluks
The Janissaries
My personal vote would go for the Janissaries of the Ottoman Empire because they were mostly elite infantry, their empire had a huge amount of territory with a diverse array of equipment and peoples and cultures to choose from, and because Janissaries were a late Medieval creation that marked a sort of turning point from the feudal armies of the Medieval Period to the professional standing armies of the Modern Period. They'd basically be the opposite of Apollyon- brutal centralization and progress.
I'd rather there not be additional factions. I'd prefer characters added into the existing factions that broaden the somewhat generic, or mythical, base cultures.
So a Persian, or even a Roman, could fit into the Knights, a Gaelic warrior could be added to Vikings, and a Mongol could be added to the Samurai.
Otherwise, Faction War would be subdivided so much that you actually would encounter some balance issues that might not be manageable simply through adjusting assets based on player participation.
