From what i know, they never really "despawn".
If a player enter a Landing Zone while an extraction is ongoing, a Hunter will spawn.
And this Hunter will stay here forever as long as the "trigger" player is alive (player can run to the other side of the map then come back, the Hunter will be there waiting)..
However, if his assigned player dies, the Hunter will despawn if not engaged in combat for a time.
Will not work - you will spawn another Hunter at the other extraction site.Originally Posted by nairda2k9 Go to original post
What does work is to run to an extraction site and spawn your Hunter. Run away and let the other player deal with the Hunter for you. Return to that same extraction site much later after you're done and extract - you will not spawn another Hunter.
If you get to close to an extraction zone and don't accually extract, a hunter sometimes spawn for those extracting at the time. when you go to extract the game thinks you already killed your hunter, provided the lucky player you dumped an extra on was successful. If this happens again check the stats and see if says hunter kill in the last catagorie.
Do we know how long the Hunter has to be not engaged before it will despawn? The other night I went to extract at DZ3 and noticed there were three unconscious player markers on the map there. Sure enough, there were three Hunters lurking about. I was engaging two of them when the third killed me.Originally Posted by Neumeusis Go to original post
As for the OP, if you are looking to extract without having to deal with a Hunter, wait just outside the extraction zone when someone else has called one in. Once the helicopter lands, you can enter the extraction zone without spawning a Hunter.
Sadly i have no idea...Originally Posted by googlebright Go to original post
And i'm almost certain the "despawn timer" is reset each time the hunter is remotly engaged, so can take quite some time...
So if you spawn a Hunter at one extraction point and then run to another and spawn one there does the first one de-spawn?Originally Posted by EddyRockSteddy Go to original post
If not, can I run to every extraction point and spawn multiple hunters? Might liven up an otherwise dull experience.![]()
As mentioned, you have a Hunter that is tied to you in Survival. Once you kill it off, it won't spawn again if you visit another extraction site for some reason. That being said, we are aware of the "spawn and run" tactic. I would be interested to hear ideas of how you would deal with it as it's a tricky issue.
