Survival is ****** nonsense, so much work for what??

I have played survival a number of times on PVP in a team and PVE solo and while I like the achievement of surviving through tough conditions the end game difficulty just leaves me cold.
Made it to extraction a number of times but just can't work out a way to combat the Hunter.
Tonight made it to the DZ with 28 minutes, found div tech, nice caches, plenty of parts and built a nice gold G36 with a 52% magazine and had a purple M249 machine gun.
I had gold firepower and stamina modules, a turret and a support station.
The hunter appeared, along with jamming tech that meant I could not launch the turret or the support station, I was in cover at the back of the area, a seeker mine was launched, took most of my health, I rolled out of the way, but the hunter quickly closed and killed me so I could not use the med kits I had, no shots fired. Devastated how efficient it was.
Just no fighting chance, players say it is so easy how do you counter jamming tech and seeker mines with a ruthless finish like I faced tonight.
Disappointing to have made it so far and get taken out so ruthlessly, such that I have no idea how to counter it.
Constructive advice will help but the get gud, you can't play the game, brigade can removed yourselves.

What was your toughness? Do not tackle the Hunter unless you're at about 150K.

Employ your turret before you call the extraction. There are also spots you can hide in that fools the Hunters - first level down in the car park extraction is one foolproof method of kicking his ***.

Edit: Forgot to add, craft a gold M60. That way you have sufficient firepower to kill the Hunter without reloading.

I was giving a lot of importance to stamina before extracting, but I'm really more happy with something like 2800 FA, 2300 ST...last time I caught an hunter in the open I killed him with a single G36 magazine...

While it certainly won't hurt, 150k toughness is not necessary to fight a hunter. Neither is a hi end weapon. Again, it wouldn't hurt to have either one of these, but don't beat yourself up trying to obtain them.

If you can get your hands a blue g36 or m60, that will suffice. Also, gather grenades, specifically flasbangs. This will stagger the hunter long enough for your to inflict some damage. Drop your turret in a spot that keeps the Hunter in one spot. He may hack, but you can still blow up the turret. Also, make sure you have some time to fight. If you have to rush, you may make a mistake.

Thanks guys good advice there, not sure what my stats were but will be more aware and will attempt to employ those hints next time on the exasperating Survival.
I did have a gold G36 and a purple M249 but simply did not get a single shot fired in anger.
I think initial positioning looks to be important so I don't get overwhelmed and I did have multi options for grenades.
When you hide down in the car park do you stay there and the hunter comes to you or do you move up and position yourself on the lower area?

I feel your pain! I've been at the extraction multiple times only to be taken out every time. I have yet to make it out alive. It's a tough thing to swallow to work so hard for so long only to get wasted. I've moved back to playing the regular game and UG. I'll now only do a survival run if I have a friend to run it with. I am more of a social player myself, so running survival solo or alone isn't that appealing. I've tried it several times and simply gave up. I have more fun barreling through missions repeatedly with a team.

    Good luck!

Which is why having to work for over an hour to end up being killed by a single NPC makes it even harder to take. There should be a checkpoint somewhere in each game, maybe when you get into the DZ, something. I know that would mess up the x number of agents left mess, but who cares in PvE. Set it up in PvE such that there's a checkpoint to go back to so you don't lose everything. It makes me want to not play it anymore. Yes, I know, its called survival, but from the threads I've read on it, and my own experience, this needs to change.

I actually had my best run ever last night. I ran PVE solo, and ended up extracting with about 40k dps & 120k toughness (I never really care about skill power in survival). This those stats, I was able to easily kill my hinter (DZ2 garage extraction, using the stair tower method). My skills were pulse and heal. The trick was to pulse, empty my RF into him, then quickly follow up with my SMG. He stood no chance. At the same time, two more people come up, which means 2 more hunters. one guy went down immediately, while the other was playing very cautiously. Since I only had literally 2 minutes left, I ran out and killed both hunters by myself. So 3 hunters, before healing the downed guy up so he could extract. So there you go, 40k/120k running solos is more thena enough, if you use common sense and strategy.

Extract at a parking garage, and hang out in the stair tower. It seems to be the safest way. I did it with only 40k dps and 120k toughness, solo.

Put your turret on the bonnet of the truck on the first level down from the extraction site. Fire your flare gun, jump down and run past the truck and hide around the corner. Wait for the disrupt to end and pulse to see where the Hunter is. Run out and then back again to lure him in. He will then attempt to run down to you. Your turret will suppress him, giving you time to kill him.

I'll do a run and post screenshots later for you on where to hide and place turret etc etc.
