The cover base DZ system solution.

    Hi all,

I tried to imagine a solution, (in view of the recent 1.6), to the bad cover system that transformed the game from a cover base game to "go around like a monkey." Why don't drastically reduce life and damage when entering to the DZ if you are out of coverage? BAAM No more rolling monkey, and more tactics.
If you use a ballistic shield you're protected like behind cover and finally we will use the mobile cover and we would use many talents based to the cover.

I think that would solve many problems automatically like Ganking an many others.

    What do you think?

    Please, forgive my bad english.

This has been suggested, or a very similar plan anyway. The problem would be making people too easy, so that people could camp entrances and pick you off as you come through the door.

No way. With a system like this we'll only get sniper wars and ambushes...and it'll be nearly impossible to extract any item from the DZ.

Friendly fire enabled. That would introduce an element of caution.

Interesting concept. As you know, the Dark Zone and PVP balance is a huge aspect of Update 1.6, thanks for providing us with your idea and thought! I would be interesting to see you further expand on this idea and how you would want something similar to be implemented in the game.

For PVP you cant use cover much.

For PVE i dont use cover much cause of two reasons.

First is that bots rush you and you cant stay in cover to survive them.

Second is that bots stay in cover and dont but there head out even, so you must move in and then you cant take cover anywhere where you could see these bots that are in cover and dont move.

Cover based PVP huh? So one guy kills another guy who is behind cover only to have the guy that he killed get easily revived by his buddy (also behind cover) and there is nothing the guy who killed the guy behind cover can do about it because if he leaves cover to finish the guy he killed that was behind cover then he gets wasted. Sounds fun.

How many grenades do you have? More than us? Ok.....you win.

Cover is nothing but grenade spam magnets.

This won't solve out of cover. Gears of War is a cover shooter and no one really takes cover. Look at Call of Duty and the short TTK and people are still running into each other's face drop shooting or jump shooting. The only reasons they are dancing around like the division is because the TTK is longer than all those games. Even if with the original smart cover people were still bouncing of it and running around. You will never get rid of it regardless of the TTK.

I like cover and tactics gameplay. I don't like the roaming zerg style that's in so many other games. However, i don't think penalizing someone for being out of cover is a good idea. There are multitudinous reasons to be out of cover and this system would force players to make a choice: Stay behind cover and eat the grenade spam, gambling on surviving, or run from said grenade spam and die even more quickly.
