So I just wanted to try and get a bit of a consensus as to which of the talents in the game are actually worth looking for, or trying to roll at the recalibration table etc...I know they all have a description next to them, but like a lot in this game it can get a little difficult figuring out exactly which are useful and which are largely meaningless.
I assume that it very much depends on what weapon(s) you use, your gear/gear sets, and other variables within your individual characters set up?
I don't have a really good SMG or assault rifle, and consequently I use a SCAR (actually I guess the SCAR is a rifle?) with about 245 DPS and 70k damage.
It is a semi auto so I use it to put precise, relatively high damage dealing, shots one at a time on targets as opposed to spraying with a Vector or Aug.
I also use another semi auto, but a more conventional sniper rifle in the SVD, which has 202 DPS and about 40k damage.
I have primarily focused on Toughness when allocating my gear "slots", so I guess I fall into a tank-esque type of build in one sense, yet I very much prefer to stay at distance to use my slow firing but more powerful weapons as opposed to a more "up close" SMG type playable...which may sound like a contradiction, as I focus on toughness while staying away from a short range, high damage, play style.
I have Fierce, Brutal and Competent on the SCAR and Vicious, Accurate and Ferocious on the SVD.
Should I reroll on any of these based on the information I have provided?
If anyone has the time could they perhaps list the best 5 talents that would suit my situation, as I would like a second, third, fourth opinion as I'm still not sure exactly what to do.
Thanks, guys.
Go buy the M4 Lightweight and roll the first talent to responsive or brutal, and you're good to go. BTW, that M4 can be found in the terminal below the base of ops. It cost around 1200k + of phoenix. Go buy it before saturday as the vendors will reset.
for your MMR (marksman rifle) if you have brutal, prepared and competent (in 1st to 3rd slot respectively) you will be golden in PVE. otherwise, just have brutal and prepared on any MMR and you're good to go.
The god roll talents for PVE are Brutal, Destructive, Ferocious for any weapon.Originally Posted by PH.Gammatron016 Go to original post
Depends on the set you play, I'll take Responsive over brutal any day - that is with D3-FNC 2% headshot damage ain't worth it when you get flat out 10% always with responsive, no matter where you hit.Originally Posted by S3anS3an Go to original post
I beg to differ...In PVE its extremly easy to get headshots (close or far away). Brutal is still a great talent with D3FNC (especially with the extra stability the shield gives you) you dont need a measuring stick to figure out if youre getting the extra damage. With D3 if youre not aiming for the head youre doing it wrong.
but its apples and oranges. Personally I think D3 is a waste of time (literally, it makes clearling a room slower) in PVE.
Slower? Hell no. Properly made set like I have clears pve content faster than AB can ever do.Originally Posted by S3anS3an Go to original post
Having 2 or 3 D3 geared players makes Clear Sky stupid easy. Don't listen to S3anS3an he is a argumentative mood today.Originally Posted by Aaron_Clover Go to original post
Clear sky was always easy long before D3. People have been speed farming that incursion since the day it first came out.Originally Posted by gt2k Go to original post
This might sound stupid but I was worried that the Terminal vendor was only for those who actually purchased the Underground DLC, and as such I would be unable to buy anything, plus isn't the currency down there different from the rest of the BoO...or did I get that wrong too?Originally Posted by PH.Gammatron016 Go to original post
