    Napalm mission oddity?

So I decided to re-run the napalm mission as I remembered reading or hearing somewhere that the main boss, Ferro I believe, has a good mask and that, perhaps unsurprisingly, the mission he appears in as boss is the best place to try and obtain the mask.

I've replayed that mission numerous times, both on normal during my initial playthrough to level 30, and then on hard...I will add I play solo.

Anyway, enough waffling, my issue is that on my last playthrough I experienced a couple of strange incidents.

The first was at the open area after the initial firefight with the 3 NPC (both waves) where you have to blow up the first set of napalm tanks, the part that seems to be a square shape with tanks, ladders, walkways, around its edge.

There was a yellow NPC who was sat in a part of the map that I was unable to reach. I killed him, he dropped a yellow object, but I could not find a way to his position no matter what I did. It was in the far right corner as you look into the square that makes up that first tank area (not the beginning tank part with the 3 NPC) in a slightly elevated area.

No ladder led to it, no way to climb over from above and drop down, and no way to "go round the back" to find a staircase or something...I simply could not get to him.

I am sorry if my description is vague, though I think those who know the mission might know where I mean.

Second, upon reaching the area where Ferro appears from the lift I played as normal, killing his minions etc...and at one point became low on health and had to run upstairs to the yellow quarantine tunnels.

    Then the building caught fire.

As I said I've played that mission before and whether the fire does start after the death of Ferro I can't remember, but this happened at random before I had even taken half his energy.

So my question is whether Ferro must be killed as quick as possible, presumably before the fire, to give you time to pick up any loot he drops and run to the lift/elevator?

Because run I did, as I had no choice and almost died before reaching the lift/elevator to escape, meaning I wasted my time fighting all the way through to Ferro...and I will add that despite not killing Ferro, or all of the other NPCs that spawn in that last wave, it confirmed I completed the mission and I was given the XP/credits or whatever it is that was the reward for completion on hard difficulty.

So please, forgive my essay, and any help is appreciated.

I think i know what you're talking about for the first part. In fact, the way I noticed it was after killing Ferro and getting out of the elevator, i ran to the scaffold so it could say mission complete and as i paused to check my inventory then unpaused i saw through the walls a yellow a drop "somewhere" inside napalm. i tried to find it but never could. The crazy thing is, i can always see that drop every time i run napalm.

    Two things here,

    1. Copy paste in the format provided via the Bug reporting section of the forums (PC, PS4, Xbox) all the information that you just put out. Yes, you will be replied upon if said bug is something of concern or to be looked into, some of it not all of it has to do with server connection via the plateform your playing from, hence our lovely Division doesnt play nicely with others if there is any type of 'lag' between the both.

    2. Trust me, the more you play the more weird little things will happen as you just stated, and yes I have seen it myself, similar situations exactly what happened to you.

Seriously, if you have not obtained Joe's drop before the fire and explosions start, then just die. You will respawn to do the last act again. Kill him like you normally do, and get your prize. I suppose that technically, you can keep dying until his mask drops. Has anyone tried this?

The building catching fire has only happened for me when I have killed Ferro.. then it's a little bit of a mad run to get the loot dropped and GTFO of there. I have never seen the Yellow drop. I have seen the Yellow npc slightly elevated far top right of the map as you climb the ladder behind all of that fabric stuff on the scaffold.

This should help you out with getting to that loot location - https://youtu.be/tACf3mvWe-M

and as has been said by others Ferro's death trigger's the destruct sequence. I've found it best to knock off his minions, run around like a silly bugger (ie dodging Ferro) picking up their loot then give Ferro the good news

I did think that when Ferro died it triggered the fire and the rush to escape...and having replayed it again this morning I can confirm you are right, and it is his death that starts the fire.

That is why I found it so odd that the fire started last time before I had even put a dent in his health bar.

That was why I was so puzzled.

I think that, like a lot of things in The Division, it was an anomaly, a glitch, that could just as easily never happen again as it could happen the very next time I play.
