Umm, does it really matter? Anyway, with the month spelled out there is less of a chance of confusion in those countries that place the day of the month first (1/3/17 being 1 March).Originally Posted by ghmorello Go to original post
Yes, that's it basically. It's a bit of a mess really.Originally Posted by infocat1 Go to original post
But the people from the Republic of Ireland, are not British, and since it's a Republic, the monarch doesn't crap on them.
I've only heard one U2 song, and I was rather underwhelmed when I heard the radio announcer say that "you've just heard "some title I don't remember" by U2. It sounded like any mediocre pop-rock band. But I might have had bad luck with that particular song, seeing how happy people are about this pack.
I shall see if the live-stream is gonna persuade me^^
It's easy if you remember that the full name of the UK is "The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland", from which it follows that the UK includes Northern Ireland, but Great Britain doesn't.Originally Posted by Danny-Ramone Go to original post
But I still think most non-UK/Irish people totally miss the point that Ireland and Northern Ireland are two entirely different countries, NI being part of the UK and The Republic of Ireland being an entirely independent state, and likewise U2 are an Irish band that have nothing to do with the UK (putting aside where members may have been born!).
