This Game Wins Biggest Disappointment of 2016

Easily The Division was the biggest letdown/disappointment of 2016.

This game released is a horrific state. One of the buggiest games with more exploits then any other game really out there.

On top of all that the game we received was not even relatively close to what we were advertised. The game we were advertised was a survival game much like DayZ. But we got something entirely different.

I know me and many other people were expecting more of a survival game where you need to team up with others you find in the world or you can choose to kill them for their resources. The survival DLC released for this game is truly what the game was supposed to be. That was the game we were advertised. But instead they turned this game into a endless pointless grind fest. Where you constantly grind for the same exact gear over and over and over and then never use any of it in anything then tomplay the same exact missions that you just played to get that gear in the first place.

I can go on and on about how truly disappointing this game is. It's good to see the Devs are trying to fix the mistakes but in the end the some of the problems with this game are just based on the mechanics and cant be fixed at all until Division 2 comes around.

    Haha you're sad.

Ive been playing it since launch, all other games fell to the way side because they didnt last more than a week on their hardest difficulties.

I'll be playing The Division right through 2017 provided they continue to improve the formula and not rewrite it.

Quite the difference in that the OP manages to express his opinion about the game in a civil manner and explains his views in detail while all YOU can muster is some trollish response without any content. Guess who the winner in this lil exchange is

I paid £30 for a computer game. Expecting and/or demanding anything more than what I actually got will border on delusional self-entitlement.

Perhaps, some people enjoy grinding. Me included, provided I see incremental improvement in my gear and weapons. With patch 1.5, I have also been able to diversify the load out over 4 different toons. One runs AB, another Firecrest, a third one uses Final Measure, and the last one employs the leftovers. I don't mind juggling stuff in and out of my common inventory. With all the math involved, I can understand why some people do not want to be bothered by such game mechanics. The game is difficult, and that's why it never reached the same popularity level as easier games like GTA or Gears of War.

If a video game was your biggest disappointment of an entire year, you might want to find something better to do with your time.

Wow, so this is your biggest disappointment of 2016. Good for you, you must have a wonderful life. For me, this is easily the best game of 2016, i probably had different expectations, i haven't played any other game since the moment i've got this one.

I like grinding (but I like grinding with an end something to use the gear on) I had 3 or 4 sets optimized

The good old AB/Famas/LVOA--C but also a sniper build with AB that could OHK elite's etc etc etc
A great D3-FNC build 220,000 DPS/340,000 Toughness and 198,000 Skill Power (it could hold out against a 4 man team)
My HE yellow skull gloves or Savage/reckless vest Glass cannon build with booster that put me up into the 700,000 to 800,000 DPS mark
Also had a great LMG/Shotgun Lonestar build with the Pakhan.

But I had nothing to use it all on that I hadn't already done 10,000 times in the last 9 months.(was hoping survival was actually a survival game with our gear and sets ) everything rock hard with the mechanics and weather, that we had to go out into Manhatten/Brooklyn and fight to survive with missions etc etc etc, not some start from 0 dash everytime you play.

As for difficult this game is not difficult all you need is 70% RNG luck to get that god rolled gear 15% of grinding to get that lucky drop and 15% of the time recalibrating for Armour/enemy armour damage etc etc etc.

As for the OP the game is great for what it is a great 1-30 RPG story driven game and that's all there is to it.

If it's your biggest disappointment in 2016 then you must live a very rich fulfilling life.
