I have mixed feelings about survival, the lack of loot if you fail can be annoying but it's not the end of the world, you can get loot from so many other places, which is what I end up doing because I want loot.
My issue with survival is, I really enjoy the first hour, creeping around, finding loot, have my heart racing as I just reach the fire in time, find a cool gun that turns the game in my favour, it's a fun start.
But by the time I get to the dark zone I find I'm getting bored and end up rushing to get the session finished and end up crawling around.
It just lasts to long for me, I know people can finish it quickly but my playstyle does not suit that approach.
But in there defence there is nothing they can change, it is what it is. I'll just go play something else in the game. And dip my toes back in every now and then.
Survival DLC needs to set the RNG on named items so high that you get one named gear and named gun per run if you extract.
The point of DLC is to get more money so that people would buy more content. But whats the point to buy DLC if you dont get any advantage over the people who dont buy DLC.
If you want more people buy DLC or season pass then you need to make these people happy. I have season pass and you guys have already screwed us over with not giving us events.
Supply drop 2 times a month is not a event.
Dont even bother to make year 2 content as i wont buy it and i bet a lot of SP owners will feel the same. Wont want to get screwed over again cause the year one content as promised wasn't delivered.
They need to add more named mobs in the LZ and a lot more bots roaming around the LZ and they need to make these named mobs respawn like in DZ every after 10 minutes and not like now where they spawn every after 4 hours that is total joke. LZ is a large waist of space. I would not even set my foot in the DZ if LZ would be same like DZ without the PVP element and to see other people in environment.
I stopped playing survival cause it's freaking boring. I hate the fact that when i play solo i still see other people in PVE and they can steal your loot or the loot from landmarks when your busy dealing with the mobs guarding the landmark. And i hate it more as all the 24 players or so in the session will spawn in one corner of the map so if your game loads long time even on SSD or you have been set in the server later then other then your rout to the dark zone will take to long time and still wont be geared up enough to survive these heavy hitting aim bot bots that have no limits on range with everything. There pistols have 100 meters range and every gun they have. They pop there head out of cover and get headshot to you faster then you can react on. Why cant i pop my head out from cover with a sniper and have that fast accuracy like bots have. The marksman rifle when not scoped takes 3 seconds at least to get it's crosshair to a point when your able to shoot.
If these lines dont get close to the dot then even from 1 meters from bot the marksman rifle wont hit. Marksman rifle even when scoped wont hit the first shot fired every time even when bots dont have agro on you.
I wondered off topic sorry.
The lack of getting good loot or RNG appearing bad is 100% a perception issue. The reason is because when there are hundreds of possible items that drop, each item having multiple versions, each item having randomized stats, each item having a range of stat rolls, the chances of getting the exact item, with the exact stats, with the best rolls become exponentially harder to come by. However, those seeking the loot are almost always only looking for the best of the best item as if they are the only items that are worth using.
So the problem is a players perception as to how useful an item actually is. A lot of items are really good items for some situation or build that a player just may not be capable of envisioning at the time they look at the items stats. Since they can't see that that item could be best in slot for a specific build in which they probably don't use themselves, they deem the drop as a bad drop and proceed to quickly sell all of the loot they get. Then come to the forums and complain that the loot or RNG is bad.
Meanwhile the future comes and someone post online a great build. In the past that player may have had god rolls for the items needed to be used in this newly posted build. But since they threw it all away because of their perception of what was good (instead of testing things to see how good they are or can be), they now have to set out on a journey to loot those items again if they want to use that newly posted build. Now things seems worse because once again you end up searching for 1 out of possible of thousands of combinations of items and the end result will always be the same.
You will feel like RNG is bad and loot drops are all trash simply because you are tunneling for only a specific loot drop. This is why they say the best things happen to you when you aren't actively looking for it.
Bottom line, the loot in survival isn't bad at all...especially when you extract successfully. Every time I extract, I do so with no less than 22 to 25 items total. I have yet to sell every item I get from a successful survival extraction. I mean there is always at least one item that is good enough out of 25 items to keep. But if you aren't extracting from survival, then you are getting probably about 10 items at best and the chance of getting a good item out of 25 is much higher than getting a good item out of 10. I mean you have a higher chance to win the lottery if you buy 100 tickets than you do if you buy 1 ticket right?
However, let me finish by saying these complaints about loot and RNG are the exact reason why people should play games for the fun of the content. Just like in real life if you do what you do only for the rewards that you get for doing what you do, eventually those reward needs will grow and grow to the point where you can never be rewarded enough to satisfy you.
All I know is I play every game for the fun of it's actual content, not for the rewards you get in a game and I have yet to complain about loot in any game so far. I guess it's all about what type of person you are because in real life I don't give a crap about having or making a lot of money. I mean I'm that guy with 4,000 dollars in my pocket and 6 months later I still have that 4,000 dollars in my pocket. When I was a kid (about 6 years old) I was given 5 dollars for doing something good for someone and a year later I still had that 5 dollars sitting on my dresser in my room. I had no desire or need to spend it because what I enjoy in life doesn't cost money. I'm just not a big or compulsive spender. So when it comes to rewards, it's never been something that fulfills me as much as the experience of doing that thing that you get rewards for.
So again, I enjoy playing the incursion or survival more than any reward I get. I get more exciting by completing a difficult task than I do whan I open the reward and get a god roll. So I guess loot and RNG doesn't bother me like it does everyone else because what's the point of having great loot when the game you play isn't enjoyable to play with or without that great loot.
Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Finally people I can agree with. Survival is boring, a waste of a DLC, time money and effort. Its one of the DLCs you should find in the 99cent bin at Walmart. It was a waste of my season pass to DL. The hunter concept is a good Idea but poor execution. The title hunter lead me to believe that you were hunted once the helo crashed, or once you entered the DZ. Nope they instantly spawn once the extraction is call, like everything in the DZ.
Once again hunters goo idea poor execution. Why show hunters in the trailer hunting you but they don't hunt you in the game.
How exactly does this contribute to the conversation?Originally Posted by Easy_Duhz_It_ Go to original post
If you had paid attention to the OP, you would have seen him complaining about getting the same stuff in survival that he could get in the dark zone and incursions. Werent you one of the people in here complaining about how hard it was to get stuff in the dark zone? And you're still in here crying.Originally Posted by sabernub Go to original post
Should have been the starting mission to the game.Originally Posted by LepantoESP Go to original post
Your point is exactly why I never even tried it. I didn't spend hours playing Gwent in witcher 3 either...
