Survival is a waste of time

I have spent countless hours farming survival getting 8 caches each time I finish it. All of that farming to get all the same crap I would get in the dark zone. Massive really needs to make it to where you can get named items from more than one source. All I want is the tommy gun and farming dark zone supply drops has gotten me nothing, survival has gotten me nothing. THE RNG IS FREAKING TERRIBLE!!!

To be honest though survival shouldn't have been a dlc it should have just been added to the game.

do you think on the whole it would be better if there were much more specific items worth farming? and in more locations? as a casual player, i get bored really fast logging in, doing a daily, perhaps run a few lexingtons for barretts chest then not finding a group for anything else. (got barrets chest in a cache ffs after many lexington runs), but there seems to be little to nothing to encourage players to do content that isnt either tommy or barrets farming. i just wonder why they havnt added a **** ton of unique gear so we dont feel like we are being bent over while farming. more gear with unique effects means more diversity on the whole. this game seems to encourage cookie cutters.

I've had the Barretts chest and the urban mdr and have extracted more than 100 items, so it is possible to get named weapons. Although I really think survival caches are a waste of time and effort just get a few and a few gear caches.

I've had two tommy guns from supply drops, at least eight pairs of Skulls MC gloves (from the LZ bosses) three of four Caduceus' (again from the LZ bosses) Ferro's Mask and Shortbow Pads from Proficiency Caches. I've had no luck on the Barrett's Chest Piece or Bliss Holster yet.

Trick with the LZ bosses seems to be to run them alone. I've had the most drops that way. That said, I ran them twice in the space of two hours (different characters) with a friend and he picked up four Caduceus'. If you build a 'farming character' and run a sniper you can also get a huge number of proficiency caches. I got my extra kill XP up to about 120% and with the Accomplished pads I was on about 4000 xp per headshot kill.

Think I should have been more specific I was talking about caches from Survival.

I didn't realize until reading this that survival is just a different game mode. The map is slightly different though i guess. Also i think the Devs wanted to keep it separate from the MMO/RPG/LooterShooter aspect of the game because so many people soured on it and weren't coming back. if it was anything even close to what players thought of the dark zone nobody would have bought it and massive knew it. I remember them emphasizing that it's an "even playing field" and players don't have to play the base game at all to enjoy it. Amazing they had to distance themselves from their own game in order to try and sell an add-on for it. It worked though, at least at first alot of people were playing and even praising the release who otherwise wouldn't touch the division again.

I've put alot of hours into Survival, haven't been able to extract yet, but will eventually. It is boring as hell and the rewards so far have been underwhelming, probably because I haven't extracted. I can only manage a few runs a night as I'd end up falling asleep playing more. The game really, really needs new story content.
