    Fusion being ported to Switch?

Sebastian Aaltonen, former senior rendering lead at Ubisoft and co-founder of Second Order LTD, wrote on the Beyond 3D forum that direct ports from the current consoles to Nintendo Switch may not be possible.

“Around 50% of modern game engine frame time goes to running compute shaders (lighting, post processing, AA, AO, reflections, etc). Maxwell’s tiled rasterizer has zero impact on compute shaders. 25.6 GB/s is pretty low as everybody knows that 68 GB/s of Xbox One isn’t that great either. ESRAM is needed to reach good performance. But I am talking about the POV of down porting current gen games to Switch. Switch certainly fares well against last gen consoles, and Maxwell’s tiled rasterizer would certainly help older pixel + vertex shader based renderers. Too bad last gen consoles already got their last big AAA releases year ago. Easy ports between Xbox 360 and Switch are not available anymore. Xbox One is a significantly faster hardware. Straightforward code port is not possible. Content also needs to be simplified,” Sebastian Aaltonen explained.

(I found this posted on the forums at VGchartz ( http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=224055 here's the link ). I'm not sure what is going on here but I do appreciate the hard work Sebastian has put into Trials and pray things work out for the best to him with the path ahead.)

    Hello forum riders,
Welcome to the future as we enter into 2017. May it treat you all happy and safe. I see you noticed this and wonder what's the point. Well the point is mostly a context of one and what changes that are occurring there within the development team. This seems like a big change as Sebastian has been working here for a very long time. His knowledge and skills to making this game might weigh into what possible developing Trials game this future brings.

Sebastian Aaltonen being a ex-ubisoft employee occurred when? I don't really know the exact time, date, or even why. He was really helpful one that contributed truthfully and assisted a great deal to these forums. Now that he isn't working there, are we going to have less communication with the makers of this game?

The workings of Aaltonen can be seen here: http://advances.realtimerendering.co...ter_220dpi.pdf

The Quote we have by Sebastian talks about a Nintendo console that isn't released yet. Now this could be taken as insider knowledge because of only recently leaving of his position at ubisoft. It's been a big hot topic gaming sites, as one that is linked in the Op.

Could this be hinting towards the work of our next anticipated Trials game is actually a Port of Fusion to the Switch? After all it is a cross-generation title and is on the 360. It's one of those possibilities that could be after-all, since we know nothing of what is going on in the works.

The next Trials game being nothing more than a port of Fusion to the Switch... Thoughts?

The idea of porting Trials Fusion to the Switch is hilarious.. the game is already on its last legs. It would be a complete waste of time/money.

I'm sure they're are plenty like me, but I have already purchased the game & all DLC.. twice (360 & One), & have put an ungodly amount of hours into the game.

RL & Ubisoft only have one shot & it's not going to be a port or remaster of any of their current games. Anything less than a new entry in the franchise would be a slap in the face.

I like your thinking and I am 99.99% on board with you. The other .01% is just that I can't say for sure about putting the same amount of time with the game as you.

I also agree 99.99% that Fusion being ported is a ridiculous notion or as a nicer way of putting it would be as you have and call it hilarious. The other .01% of me knows the game has a technical ceiling but started off and still core purpose is to be played and enjoyed by as many people as possible. It makes sense in that, seeing as Fusion having a multi-gen release, that is what they wanted. Even so as setting limit for the game itself, it would be able to reach more people.

From that purpose it started with, Fusion could once again reach even further by having a port. It also could be worthy investment for them, but it's gamble.

To make a game can't be a something that easy to do. I tried to dig into why someone would really want to do it.
    I give to you exhibit A http://www.secondorder.com/index.php/en/about

It is from a pretty awesome group that make games. Games that are so awesome, that we all would get to the ending and all we want to do is start over and do it again.

    link says

Second Order is a independent game studio based in Helsinki, Finland. The studio was founded in 2015 by two game developer veterans Sebastian Aaltonen and Sami Saarinen. In total we have more than 30 years of experience in the field and have shipped games for six consoles and PC. We were the key persons behind the award winning Trials game series. Now we are back with our own studio.

We are gamers by heart. Rock solid gameplay is our passion. We love to give players the freedom to be creative, to experiment. Nothing feels better than seeing players find something unexpected from our game and having a blast with it.

A thriving community is important for us. Compete, create or just have plain old fun with other players. Let's make awesome gaming experiences together.

That is pretty cool, and I really respect them for that. It's amazing someone is willing to work hard so that I can play.

Now You're last sentence is something I'm 100% with you there. I definitely want a new one and anything else would feel like a belly flop off a high diving board.
