Best PvE is still in the DZ.

For me and my friends the problem with the DZ from day one was that the best PvE in the game was locked behind a bizarre PvP mini-game. In terms of level design and overall PvE game mechanics playing solo or with just one group in an otherwise empty dark zone has been by far the best experiences I've had in The Division, it's only happened to me a handful of times... it seems lobbies sometimes die after 2-3 hours, particularly late during off hours. I would play in a PvE dark zone limited to one group only even if there were fewer drops, no xp, and no DZ funds. Because it's an amazing game, maybe one of the best I've ever played. This would not negatively effect any other players experience. Fighting bosses and extracting loot is super fun, I can't shake the feeling that The Division would be an overwhelming success if everyone could experience the dz without someone else being in their game. It's like Tom Clancy wrote an amazing novel, but the last chapter was written by an inexperienced game designer and the result was a train wreck. That being said a PvP/PvE DZ should always be the primary focus. I've also had alot of fun in PvP, making PvP builds and testing them is great... but it's for a few laughs now and then. For players like me, who PvP primarily in dedicated experiences like battlefield, overwatch, or world of tanks, please let us play your amazing PvE game in the DZ, and show others it's one of the best PvE games ever made.

I agree and I everyone i Know personally except for one is the same. We can see what could be the greatest game of alltime and that's saying a lot. Certainly another company will pickup where this games devs have tripped and stumbled. Most are PVE and they can't stick around because not only is there not enough to do but they can see where a PVE only DZ would succeed and make this one of the best of alltime. It won't ever change though and we've come to accept it. It is what it is nothing more and nothing less.

I also thought it would never change, but when i noticed the PvE option in Survival i saw a glimmer of hope that the Devs may have some flexibility here. It seems like such an obvious move after all the crap they've taken from players and the gaming media that for awhile I assumed it was a technical problem related to the games overall functionality. Maybe there is some kind of fundamental technical hurdle here. Making the game more appealing to a broader range of players is just common sense.

Just improve the lz it's that simple and leave the only pvp area as is.

From someone that has spent countless hours doing only PVE in the DZ, I can tell you now, that empty instances or rogue free ones gets boring very quickly. I can also say that there is much better PVE content elsewhere in the game.

In fact, PVE becomes so boring in the DZ that most guys I play with, including me, have moved towards PVP and it's so much more fun than the mindless box/boss conga.

And as much as I enjoy playing this game, there is no way it would get into my top list of best PVE games of all time. No way.

This already was attempted in 1.4 and was an improvement. Also Survival is PvP too.

Is it one of the worst PvP games of all time tho? By the developer's own opinion they need an elite task force and a complete overhaul to make pvp "fun again".

PvP in the DZ can't be fixed, can't be balanced and the problem is that the game has been shown with PvP features at inception.

PvP could be balanced with the introduction of fixed pre-sets (no RNG) when players venture in the DZ... but who'd like such a game after having lost a lot of time to drop the best loot elsewhere?

I.e. there should be a pre-set for every gear-set (or even more than one) all of them balanced, let's say if a player goes for a DPS build armor is lower, viceversa for tanky builds. The rationale is to minimize unbalance and avoid meta builds like AB/FAMAS (and all the others we had in former game versions). 4vs1 ganking will remain, but in a team the builds are to be unique (this helps).

This is going to change the DZ into a CoD/Overwatch/BF arena, NPCs still allowed to stay random events like hunters/LMB raids/etc. more than welcome].

Otherwise, leave PvP to some arena/closed zones and put rogues in the DZ as a faction, like i.e. hunters (but of course stronger), spawning in 1-2-3-4 teams randomly at extractions, spawnpoints, supply drops, landmarks, etc. and everyone will know who the enemy is.
