How good is this game for me?

I almost never go onto forums, but damn! Ubisoft is holding up and representing the single player action games like crazy. I only play single player games these days. I love the way they keep the action game genre alive in single player. I wish they'd just take over EA Games and restore the glory to a lot of the things EA ruined.

Anyway, I'm planning on getting a new gaming PC soon and I have all the parts picked out. I want to know if Far Cry 4 and Primal are worth it. Let me give you some info on me and what I enjoyed so far in this sort of Genre. I've been off new PC games for a few years. Back when I played, Crysis, Far Cry 2 and stuff like that was my ****! I know Far Cry 2's story felt a little bit dull and the gameplay felt a bit repetitive and that whole malaria thing through the game was just too much crap forcing the game along for the first few hours, but I loved the gritty wounds and the whole feeling of survival. The ending was the bomb. It was like a real take everyone down with you scenario and just end the crappy existence. The politics of the rebels and Congo was pretty good too. I never played Crysis Warhead, but man, Crysis is an awesome game just to play over and over. The graphics at the time aside for all these games, the combat felt right. (I mean the physics could use some work). It was ambitious. I tried Crysis 3 and was severely disappointed. That game felt so basic and overblown. Nothing about it was down to earth or felt in the least relatable. I tried Far Cry 3, the game was tolerable for awhile, but I wasn't running in on a good machine at the time. I just borrowed it from a friend to see if I liked it. The whole golden animal **** and the extremely buggy chaotic mess that was the combat, it just felt like a circus act. The game had so many cool concepts and the story seemed interesting, but I couldn't get past the problems I was having with it.

I used to mod games to make them feel more realistic. I would pull out the archives and the files. I would run some program to find the right hex values while playing. No ridicules physics when struck by bullets so rag dolls aren't flying. None of that getting shot 20x and living. It made the games challenging to not be able to get hit more than a few times, but when you shot someone they were injured or dead depending on how deep I was able to mod stuff. I give them a pass on the gritty stuff like having to pull a tooth out 20x and getting major bullet wounds without permanent injury. The guy's got to be able to have some kinda super ability to survive injury to go it alone without a team of Navy Seals. Being in the military and having some perspective on this makes it unbelievable at times, but I can still suspend some belief for the sake of a fun action flick.

So, I want to know, should I give Far Cry 3 another try on a good machine and would I like Far Cry 4 or Primal (I gotta say, I love it when the idea that survival **** goes stone age, even if I'm partial to firearms).

Far Cry Primal on expert difficulty with survival mode and perma death on will definitly offer a great realistic experience. I`d suggest you first complete the game without perma death though, as dying during a boss fight is going to make you tear your hairs out

If you weren't impressed with FC3 then maybe give FC4 a miss. You'd be better of with Primal, bearing in mind it's more a survival game with crafting and missions. Some folk say it's repetitive and that's true to an extent but you are always progressing. Personally I think parts of the menus and interface could be simplified, and some aspects I didn't need such as the owl and most of the (coloured) plants. The topography is superb and on a decent machine you'll enjoy the scenery.
