How do the devs make such a bad gun....
I have tried to give this gun the benefit of the doubt and I can not understand how you can make a gun, a named gun so bad.. The accuracy on it is just so bad.. For a semi auto gun is should at least have reticle like the SVD... But in the state that this gun is in it is by far the worst gun in the game. Even the Showcrapper is better and I never thought I would say that.... Nothing helps to make this gun any good even with Sentry, I would just rather run with the SVD it makes zero sense to use it...... I think the gun should be able to go full auto as well with loss of some base damage.. That would at least make this gun viable...
Your video showed the reason why it is a useless. My Lightweight does more head shot damage then you were doing with 3 marks of sentry. I'm sure it is a fine PVE weapon but the weapon is basically useless compared to any of the M4's. I can put more rounds on target by tapping the trigger and do more damage. The gun is for show and that shouldn't be the case. The original blind rifle was amazing and was a lot better then this thing.Originally Posted by LtBuzzLitebeer Go to original post
I could see how sentrys with flame turret could be decent. I still think the gun is underwhelming. I got crapped on in a video for comparing it to a Marskman Rifle. Even though it functions like a MM rifle minus the benefits(headshot dmg)
You would still end up doing more damage with a decently rolled Mk17 police MM rifle. The 10% damage on status effects even when used with a flame turret doesn't make up for the fact that the Urban MDR functions like a Marksman Rifle but has way more than 10% less base damage than Marksman Rifles(and 20ish% armor damage can't compete with 160%+ headshot damage).
Basically boils down to-
MDR: 10% dmg on effect, 20% armor dmg, higher ammo pool, slightly higher RPM(have fun clicking at 350RPM)
VS
Mk17 (or other MM rifle): 160%+ head shot damage, 20%+ base dmg(over the MDR), longer optimal range, slightly slower RPM(350 to 275ish), smaller ammo pool
VS
G36: same 20%ish armor dmg, same ammo pool, higher RPM(750 i believe- almost double the MDR but the base dmg is only like 15-25% higher on the MDR)
The benefits to the MM rifle out weight the MDR in pretty much every way a sniping style build would work, including sentrys
The benefits of a higher RPM automatic assault rifle out weighs anything the MDR can do in a closer range engagement
So what is this gun good for? or in another way what is it "best" at- **SpoilerAlert** Nothing as far as I can tell
The way they do "legendaries" in this game is really lack luster, you should know what its good for, it should be obvious if you know what your doing in the game, and at the moment their are several Named weps that are no where near BIS for any build worth using.
The only advantage to taking MDR over a sniper/Marskman rifle is the ammo pool going from 200ish(MM/sniper) to 2000ish(assault rifles).
and if that is the only real advantage you are better off taking an LVAO-C, G36 or really any other decent assault rifle (better burst and sustained damage)
Obviously the full autos don't work with Sentry's but you would still be better off with a sniper or marksman rifle in that case- Only reason I see keeping it on a Sentry build would be incase your main sniper/marksman rifle ran out of ammo.
That doesn't sound like a cool "named" weapon to me
"LVOA-C" sorry that bugged meOriginally Posted by AOD_sinister Go to original post
@LtBuzzLitebeer How about you and me do solo challenging runs of lex... Me with my Light weight M4 and you running the URBAN MDR... Well see who finishes first, timed runs... I don't need a review of this weapon as I have been first hand reviewing it for the last 4 days with multiple gear sets... The gun is useless and a huge disappointment once again... There is really not one scenario that I can think of that this gun makes any sense of using over any other gun.. not just assault rifles..... any gun...
