Question About Purchasing Season Pass ["Calling All PvE'ers"]

    Hello.

I am 99,9% a PvE player, loving Co-Op in general. I haven't purchased the game yet, i have made my mind about it though.

On the other hand, i am wondering if the Season Pass actually gives something more besides the obvious. Considering i am PvE'er, considering i don't have a ton of money to waste/spend on video games, are there any solid arguments for the Season Pass?

I know about the "year two" content etc., I know the DLC's may be an incentive, yet, for a game that at it's core is an RPG shooter misses to check the proper boxes. Well, not exactly but also it is not entirely the best at it. RPG elements i consider, incentive for exploration, which is good i heard here. Though story and crafting i have heard are pretty weak and every time i watch any kind of video about the game they never mention the slightest thing about the depth of the story. On the contrary i hear crafting is close to useless. It is, important for an RPG to be immersive and the storyline plays a huge part.

Any thoughts and suggestions or whatever you think please share it, it'll will help me understand more about the game.

[I have watched most of the "famous" YouTubers of the game like MarcoStyle, UEG, Skill UP etc.]

[If someone would ask me why would i buy this game instead of an upcoming AAA title or something else i would respond that, I am too old to know better about the modern gaming industry. Don't expect to see less amount of rushed virtual products, or products that are made because a contract requires it. I am not someone who purchases non-existent products (Pre-Freaking-Order) and when you pay 50 Euro or 150 Euro for a so-called AAA title there should be a ton of content and not Season Passes or micro-transactions. In a way i do miss 20 years i go were i would buy a game and that was it, i was freaking happy, no heartache, no complains (in the most part), no rage etc.]

Anyway, thanks for any replies, have good holidays and be well. Cheers.

I wouldn't get the season pass again if I knew then what I do now. Both Underground and Survival are nothing more than an added game mode with no story based content. If you want them that bad, just purchase a code for each from EBAY for $5. Definitely not worth $15/each and the season pass isn't worth $20 let alone the $40 they sell it for.

    DLC & Season pass

If you’ve not bought the game but you enjoy PvE content which is reasonably “open world” then the simple answer is .. Yes.

The season pass naturally includes the DLC’s, so far two are available to play and all are mainly PvE based. Survival has a PvP & PvE options so if you like PvE just choose that. Underground is 100% PvE.

Most of the open world is PvE, dozens of side missions, repeatable and randomly generated target missions as well.

The Ai is significantly improved with the patches lately so PvE is far more challenging. Even from starting the game fresh, I’m running a series on my YouTube channel where I run a new character through with the latest patch and its SO FAR improved from when I first played through all those months ago.

You will get a 100+ hours of PvE gameplay from this game plus season pass with the DLC at least.

That was quick of you guys, thanks.

Well, i personally believe a survival element should exist in the core game, in a DLC it should be a more Hardcore aspect of it but anyway.

From what you said though it is only the Underground that stuck with me. Even if survival has PvE elements it doesn't feel as compelling, to me at least. Yet, i wouldn't go as far as saying it is pointless, it does seem quite good from what i've seen and even as a PvE'er i do want PvP to exist. Contrary to PvP Hardcore fanatics, i think any game benefits greatly from the co-existence of these (PvE/Co-Op+PvP. MOBA's the most obvious genre btw).

This time of year the prices go down, so as i waited for the game to be more stable and refined (and didn't bought it in it's release and only i know how much a wanted too), i should wait to see what the actual "Year Two" content will be. Atm i think the base game is sufficient and i do check news about the game anyway, so i'll wait.

I am going to purchase the game around this week so i wanted to know more about buying the SP together, but it does feel kind of not worth it and as i mentioned also i do not want to encourage business tactics i feel they are not...good, they feel shady at best to me. Pre-Orders and Season Passes alike.

Thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts!

Solar - Survival is EITHER PvE or PvP .. is what I meant. When you queue for a game session you choose between PvE or PvP. Basically its a hard-core version of the main game with a time limit.

I'll PM you a link to a YouTube vid, not trolling for views etc but you'll get a good view of PvE Survival as I only play that.

Buy the game cheap, calibrate your expectations and ignore anybody who tries selling you the Season Pass.

That's what i was going to do in a way as i said.

My expectations in general regarding the gaming industry are pretty low. There's a culture, a modern culture of over-hyping video games. It's all about selling and money and profit really. The thing is, here we are talking about virtual products you see. Virtual..non-existent and things like Pre-Order even in Capitalism feels ridiculous and ludicrous if you ask me, same for season passes, even micro-transactions that promote a divide, but that another huge discussion.

Yet, i just love Art in general and Art can be found anywhere really. I love mostly the Indie scene, Indie Devs make passionate, creative games beyond any AAA title. As i said, i am quite old to know better. Well, in the most part, i hope. Thanks for the input though, cheers.

Op is it possible for you to share play the dlc 1St? If so give that a shot or at least check some vids out before purchasing. Personally I love both dlcs so for me it's totally worth it.

Might be cut from the same cloth. I'm older (yeah I ponged) and share some of the same opinions about what has happened to the industry. While a wonderful tool/invention - household connectivity has quite a bit to do with this in my opinion.

Game publishers know they can push out weak offerings and bolster them over time by adding/fixing etc through patches DLCs. When I was a kid, the game had to work right before you sold it. There wasn't an option to fix your busted crap after your customer paid for it.
