The game should really factor in your experience with a character into matchmaking

Will you consider factoring players experience on a character into matchmaking? The character selection phase would have to be moved before the matchmaking begins, but the game would really be better for it. This is something that fighting games do with great success, and For Honor is basically a TPP fighting game.

How it works now: matchmaking is based on your single MMR (matchmaking rating) that doesn't change no matter what character you play.

How it would work: if they put character select before the matchmaking starts, they could include this into the matchmaking. You would have multiple different MMRs, one per character. So if you are a weak peacekeeper you would face worse players, and if you are a beast Nobushi you would face better players when playing that character.

I don't see any downsides to this, thoughts?

Can't talk with your team about team comps then. That's most likely why they have character selection after match is found. Also while your suggestion sounds alright, it just wouldn't work that well. I found that after just playing the game for some time and decided to try a new character I was just better at the game than when I first played as my other characters. This may not be the same for everyone and so you would have some very good players just starting out on new characters likely stomping noobs a lot of the time.
