    What a let-down

Hey - you developers. A fine job with the game, thanks. However, you ought to know that taking out Ull is a throwback to the 1990s when we were fighting respawning enemies ad infinitum. If it wasn't endless enemies it was a character/monster you had to 'kill' several hundred times over.

With Ull you have employed both. It's cheap, and I say shame on you for not devising something with a bit of thought behind it. Overall I found the game engaging even though I generally prefer a modern theme. I like the way you can develop and gain skills, and there are some nice cut scenes. The scenery is superb on high settings and for me that's a big plus. But in my view the game is let down by the way you have to defeat Ull.

One idea that immediately springs to mind would be having to fight him (more or less on equal terms) across a tree trunk over a deep ravine. It would be tough and you might plummet to your death a few times! But skilful manoeuvring and weapon play would see you prevail and see him falling to his death. Please forget this semi-invincible / endless respawn stuff (i.e. Unreal 1998) which ought to be consigned to history with fondness and amusement.

I have to echo this and I'm just at the Batari fight. These endless 'boss' fights are straight out of Super Mario 25 years ago. Have game developers not progressed past that at all? It immediately cheapens the game when you've had this great experience and then get to a spot where you have to die 10 times and replay the same thing over and over for no good reason. You can't save the Batari fight and move on, you have to start over every time if you die.

It is stupid as hell. and just tarnishes a superb game no end. It also appears you can't change the difficulty mid-game or I'd do that and move on.

Why this nonsense developers? It's as if you spend 80% of your time creating this masterpiece and then get to the end and say 'meh, that's enough, just finish it with some real crap and let's move on'.

I got past Batari and to the Ull fight. I concur with original poster, what is this? I think the game near masterpiece level in putting you in the world but good lord you go back to 8 bit gaming conventions for the ending?

I very rarely don't finish a game no matter how tough, this one I'm done with without finishing. If the game saved even part of the last boss fight so you didn't have to start over every time it might work. To go all the way through and die with a tick of health left on Ull and have to start over every time? Who thought this was a good idea? Terribly disappointing and I will wait to buy Far Cry 5 until I'm sure this isn't the new normal for Far Cry. Far Cry 3 and 4 were masterworks and I still play both. I won't be finishing Primal and what a shame.

I finished the campaign at 45% completion and it's really enuf Primal

... painfully repetitive in all aspects with just 2 real tasks - kill Udams/mammoths and build villagers' huts makes me the village idiot of the clan! The storyline is not bad but unexciting at best. Lucky I got this game for 20 bux, from my retailer, hence not a big waste of money. I am not attempting the remaining 11 challenges just for the sake of completion.

On top the double bow problem not counting all (two or multiple) arrows shot on an enemy but collect just one back - meh!
