We could even add to the argument about the realism of pulling a ballistic shield, or something the size of the extended shield out of your rectum (I know it's supposed to be the backpack). I personally like the idea of being able to colour code your armour so they complement your clothing better, for instance, my main char has the black windbreaker with the shoulder pads but the brown woodland camo of the alpha-bridge backpack just looks off, so the ability to "hide" the backpack or preferential for me the ability to apply the skin from one of the other backpacks would be great. Anyway, that's my opinion.
Visual appearance is one thing and is lore/story oriented, gameplay mechanics are another thing.

Adding skins on your armors will be great ( like you add them on your guns ) and would not brake the visual immersion.
The 15 years old OP whined in another post he can't make a Lara Croft toon. He don't want a bulletproof vest visual because, most likely, he can't see the boobs of his character.

This game has far more issues than to satisfy the hormonal needs of a 15year old virgin like the OP who want his TD virtual GF to look sexy.

Bunch of uneducated losers talking about Realism is why we can't make the armor invisible.

Yeah its so realistic for a guy to take 100 bullets to the head and not even scratch or how realistic is it to press a T button to revive a dead corpse or the best part wearing a glove gives your gun armor piercing.

LOL I just sit by and watch a bunch of regressive leftwing lunatics cry over my post and realize just how bad Public Education has failed. To think idiots here can't tell the difference between a video game and real life is sad or least of all a fantasy video game like this where literally nothing is realistic.

Or how about the fact that this game has ZERO bullet travel time? yeah thats so realistic right? OMG I can't believe people in society can be this uneducated to even think about comparing this to anything remotely realistic is this the best that consoles actually has when it comes to realism?

Uneducated dimwits should go play Arma 3 if they want realism. But I bet they are console scrubs and couldn't land a single shot in Arma 3 when I want realism I fire up Arma 3. I do not play this console cod like game for realism not even remotely close.
    You're fun.

What most people here are referring to is immersion and staying true to a theme, not whether the game is actual a simulation of real life. It's a video game, you're always going to press buttons to accomplish in-game tasks and otherwise control your character. But you don't ask to be able to play a My Little Pony character in a Transformers game, and then argue that 'why does it matter, nothing is real anyway because I push buttons to transform and fire laser guns.'

This is a Tom Clancy game. Granted, a watered down version of of one, but they are trying to at least remain somewhat true to a theme.

As for the insults, I suggest saving those. You're really not doing yourself any favors.

What on earth are you babbling on about? when has anybody ever asked about Pony characters?

People are talking about making a chest piece armor invisible for the purpose of enjoying the DLC being sold by the developers on the store page.

You sound like a Hillary shill. The typical BLM and SJWs trolls who do not posses basic understanding of anything. Instead of preaching dirty lies about transformers and a pony that nobody even brought up just so you can derail the thread how about you start acting like you went to school and address the topic at hand which is providing a vanish tool for armor pieces for a video game that has 0 bullet travel time a game that is based on fantasy magic that bullets magically hits a target instantly?

You're mistaking immersion for realism. Obviously there's certain things that can't be helped to keep the game itself fun and, you know, playable. There's doing something to make the game more fun while being immersive as possible (actually fighting enemies that don't instantly die in one hit. Take that argument with 90% of games out there, it won't stand) and then there's doing something to BREAK immersion without a logical reason beyond fashion.

This is The Division. Not the sims. Then again the devs are basically giving us different colored clothing and having it as DLC in the first place...

And they were trying to say that you can have a MLP pooping out rainbows of destruction and it can still be IMMERSIVE. Not REALISTIC. That's actually a thing btw. Red Faction Armageddon.

If I make a game where custard and peas is ammo in the game and real bullets are used instead then that would be immersive breaking. Realism is trying to be as real to what is known as possible. The two are entirely different.

    .
Well, it is you who's "talking" about it, but nevertheless, I have a question for you: when you went to the store page to peruse the DLC, did you see any model without the chest piece? Why do you think that is?

The My Little Pony/Transformers comment is what is known as an analogy. They are used to stress or clarify a point, typically when someone else has trouble grasping a concept without assistance. Apparently they are not fool proof.

The point was that some things do not 'fit' into a video games overall theme. My Little Pony does not fit a Transformers theme. And High heeled 'combat' boots (something else you've suggested) do not really fit a Tom Clancy themed game.

As for hiding armor, while it may not completely break immersion, it would be problematic for PVP. Now I don't partake in PVP much in TD, but I have in plenty of other games. Being able to tell what load out your opponent has is useful. Hiding specific pieces of armor prevents that from being possible. IMHO, the ability for PVP players to gauge someone else's load out is more important than your desire to see cleavage.

Ok, wow. You assume a lot. And what I see here is people trying to explain what immersion means to someone that hides the topic behind insults because they fail to come up with a sufficient counter argument. You went on about "real" while we went on about "immersive".

Toss out all the insults you like but it doesn't change THAT conversation.

Since you've shown to be nothing but insulting I'm actually going to leave this thread now. Unlike you I actually don't get my jollies off by insulting people and assuming things about them when I don't know anything about them. Good day.
