do sane players exist who actually use Dead Eye ??

I so much would love to see a good Sniper set in the game.

I won't stress out again how bad DeadEye is - everybody who has a calculator knows that.
Besides, Sniping should be all about landing Headshots.

Who wants 10% ADDITIVE Headshot bonus from Hunter's Faith when you have already 170% innate on your Marksman Rifle.
Plus: Most Rifles have 60m range. who would want more range ??

The 30% accuracy of Sentry is actually very interesting. The 4pcs bonus is ok. But underwhelming compared to Alpha Bridge of course.

I'd say the only sets recommended for Sniping are Sentry's - and Alpha Bridge of course.
Alpha Bridge can work even against enemies rushing at you when you combine an SVD with a Bolt Action Rifle.

Ya the M700 10% bonus when 1.4 meters above is pretty weak. Sniper builds in this game do need some love. but not OP.

I have used DeadEye and with the 100% crit hit when zoomed in is awesome especially with a Hunting M44 and/or a Carbine M44. but I did move on and used the D3 with shield and SMG wth low DPS, high-ish Skill power and Stamina. Not that I need high Stamina with a shield that has 910 hp. Not played it for a while, though.

DeadEye is one of the best and fun sets to use imo.

Before having a viable sniper build, I'd suggest to think how it can be viable in a game where there is a short depth of field (in some cases also seriously affected by the weather/light conditions) and there's no way for a sniper to hide and stay in cover for a reasonable time. Besides that, I believe that sniper rifles (even the nerfed M1A) with HF/DE builds, mixed or not with Sentry's, are overall viable for the bulk of PvE activities [I am currently enjoying a 4xSentry/2xStriker build with semi-auto MMR like M1A, SVD and SSR [my fav], as I can mark enemies and the Striker's stability+Sentry's accuracy give better chances to land headshots with ARs).

But it's a different story for PvP... may be that PC users can still enjoy sniper rifles/builds, but on consoles I was not able to find a proper way how to use them efficiently. The number of situations, with a positive outcome, which I have encountered so far is very short (and I have a custom M44 with toxic, intense and harmful which is a big fun to use...):

    - sniping rogues/players/NPCs from the spot near DZ3 extraction (the one used also for the Survival DLC) -> it happened few times for me to drop players if they are out of cover and/or the extraction rope is on sight, mobile cover needed as there's no cover on the roof edges

    - sniping manhunts in the dead-end alley near DZ2 west checkpoint -> it happens when they pop out to open fire against rushers (this is, on average, the most successful situation as the defending players come out always in the same spot and there's no cover if they want to shoot down)

    - sniping rogues/players/NPCs from balcony/gas station roof near DZ1 east extraction -> another good spot, as it also offers some cover... this is my fav as the DZ1 extraction sites are the most active and where the bulk of players' shootouts take place

There are many other sniper's spots across the DZ map, but some of them are barely active (i.e. the one behind the library, the alleys below the DZ6 extraction, when the extraction site has been cleared from the LMB elites) or they are too much tight (DZ3 vendor's window) or exposed (like DZ3 market plaza, full of elites). I am not saying it's impossible to snipe on those locations, it's just the % of success which looks (at least to me) much lower vs. the others. Sniping in the alleys (PvP) is possible when there's both a good team to provide cover (suppressing the enemies) and almost stationary enemy players (but come on... who's hiding in cover or running in a straight line nowadays?).

How to fix it? Some ideas to improve the sniper role:

    - reduce reticle bloom and increase stability of sniper rifles for console users
    - improve sniper sets with some additional concealment/protection (i.e. permanent conceal pulse, +% armor when landing HS from cover for X seconds)
    - improve sniper sets with handling/reloading bonuses for marksman rifles

Stagger is ok to me, but some rifles need a buff for base damage (not big, may be even marginal, but it's needed...).

Deadeye + 2 lonestar ( for ammo ) or striker ( for stability ) works awesome with SOCOM SSR MK20 ( deadly, accurate, balanced ) sniper or any other semi-auto. It's like using a MDR which always crit.

I've currently got an all HE yellow sniper/Marksman build with the Historian.(but I might add 2 Lonestar for extra ammo)

Sitting at 563,000+ DPS/305,000 toughness and 81,000 skill Power

Savage and reckless 22% enemy armour damage I know not great and 54% armour mitigation.

it does the job for me rather well needs fully optimizing but it's almost there.

I love sniping and like to think I do a decent job of it even on Xbox controls but I agree I do not use any of the so called 'sniper' gearsets. Hunters Faith I just don't see the point in temporary armour that gets removed after 1 shot, same with dead eye, I'm a sniper, I'm hitting headshots all day, don't take away my bonus for doing so!

MMRs need a bit of love. However picture this: MMRs are buffed by, say 20%. And then picture two good players who communicate. They'd be one shooting players left right and centre all day every day...

People using the set on PC however, my guess is that's the same kind of ppl who also still use AOL or Internet Explorer.
    People still use IE?

Easy fix for Deadeye....Make it a hard counter to Alpha Bridge

2 Piece Bonus: Keep it the same.

4 piece bonus: Damage to Elite Enemies 10%

4 Piece Bonus: When using a Marksman rifle damage is increased by 1% for every meter you are away from you target. Maxing out at 100%. Missing a target decreases the bonus of the next shot by 50%. These effects do not stack.
