So yeah, incursions haven't really worked so far. Currently the only endgame is DZ PVP. Now, I happen to like the DZ quite a bit, even though IMO more activities should be added to it and the current "Lets all gather at the DZ2 checkpoint and shoot each other" is too chaotic for my taste.
So I'd like to know if and when Massive are going to take another stab at creating endgame content.
It's exactly 1 month since 1.5 was deployed, now is it? This game is burning so fast, due to the end game content lack....
I'm wondering the same thing as you are..
Now I'm only playing Survival, pvp or pve. Mostly just to see the Urban MDR for myself. As soon as I will get it, the last " carrot " is gone, and I will hibernate until "last stand".
It's quite annoying they don't add mini-content updates often, like some named weapons, some named gear. You have to wait months for something new to surface...

So they had prepared plan for story line, basic game content, DLC content long time before launch. We all know that UBI and Massive was suprised with fact that most play time is solo even coop was expected and that DZ is real end game content, but many people do not like DZ in current form so do not play it or even leave game.
Game development is not short time, it takes long time for scenarists which make story, designers for make visual form and game design... and at last stage programiing, modeling, texturing... I guess that major DLC part was mostly finished at time when TD was released, so there is no room for change it from scratch.
I guess that year 2 content will be much more focused for players wishes and needs. At leas I personally do not expect something huge from Last Stand DLC for end game content, but hope that year 2 will bring all what we, players, needs and wish.
apparently adding at least in PvE an optional modificator that lets NPCs ignore part of our armor is too much trouble so bad players can continue to enjoy the easy game they cried for
kill red trash mobs in PvE to obtain the best loot, these developeres are a joke
stupid mode was not necessary to make the game more enjoyable and rewarding
challenging content not only is no more necessary but completely disappeared
+1 for writing style, gave me a chuckle. And I agree, though I don't do dz, there needs to be content added to both dz & lz.Originally Posted by LepantoESP Go to original post
Challenging content can be done so many ways, I'm sure they are going to take another stab at it.
Example:
Have a timer in Lex when you start to save the hostage by the door. Saving him could be hard and have a reward.
Also in lex, have hostages run out, being chasen, at the rooftop. Helping them get to safety increases the number of ads by a significant amount and requires a dedicated sniper to kill ads who run to get hostages. Reward.
Have the option to not spawn JTF mobs in Larae Barrett encounter. More ads spawn, perhaps LMBs, and amo box goes away. Reward.
If you shock and awe Larae instead of her staying upstairs in that annoying spot, she runs back and you have to chase her down before she gets out of the building with ads coming out to you. Reward.
Some rewards can be more loot, cosmetic items, choosing a reward TYPE (gear. Weapon, mod. Weapon mod, cosmetic item...).
I'd like to see totally new content with a purpose.
Add the survival mechanics to the game or even the new weather that's in survival.
Just give us new and refreshing content to do (not separate from the game itself)
if you do that the game will run and run for a while.
Have raid style stuff 6 to 8 man groups that require different mechanics to complete even put in hunters within the raids (no more stationary vehicles as bosses)
Glad I could help bring a smile. Whiskey.Originally Posted by Whiskey_Omega Go to original post
The DZ is awesome but it's becoming increasingly a DZ2 slaughterhouse. I don't think for a second it being the only endgame content can endure much more.
PVE has no endgame content.
DZ PVP is the only endgame content right now. And it hasn't been expanded upon for 8 months (or something like that).
These are smart people working on a rather nice product, I'm sure they have ideas. Only worry is budgetary constraints right now as a portion of their manpower will surely be working on TD2 and will have been doing that for almost a year by now.
Speaking of content, I play this game only briefly now and on one of those occasions yesterday for the first time since 1.5 dropped, I thought I'd do a couple of HVT's. Did the first one and got sent to a garage in Hell's Kitchen, then did the second one and b*gger me if they didn't send me back to the same garage.
