    Survival, So That's it Huh?

Not complaining about the concept. It's actually a decent one. I've played all day today and have come to the conclusion that it's crap. But not for the reasons you may think. It's challenging and you have to constantly manage resources. That's fantastic.

It's crap in that this adds zero to the story. It adds literally nothing more than the next highest gear score. To what end? There's no next level. There's no multiplayer raid. There's no additional story missions. Nothing. You're grinding just to grind at this point. That's all. This is an iOS game in console form. Pay money, get better gear, pay money, get better gear. But never add anything to the story.

I've stuck around the forum since release and I've been one of the biggest detractors(that has somehow managed to not get banned.) But this just shows that Massive/Ubisoft clearly had no idea what to do with this game. And that's just damn unfortunate. No doubt they imagined it could turn into a cash cow like AC. But even the expansions on AC added things to the overall story. This was just more ranks, more grinding, more griefing, etc.

With the Division I have learned a valuable lesson. Don't ever purchase another season pass again. So thanks for at least giving me that.

Assassin's Creed is/was a game with a vision. Lots of females played the game, including my friends' wives. The Division is missing a human connection, such as being able to team with Dr. Kendell. She is cute for an M.D. Missing the critical intangible(s) means the game has no legs, i.e., it has a small chance of becoming a big franchise series.

    Seconded,

I really want to like this game, and I don't mind paying to support games I like but it just doesn't make since to pay for content when you don't know what will be put out. The hole season pass business model needs to be ran over by a car, shot, stabbed and thrown in the garbage, only to have the garbage can ran over by a car, shot, stabbed and thrown in an even bigger garbage can.

It won't though, people will keep buying them. I personally think I have learned my lesson however.

The main game is good, dare I say great the rest feels tacked on, almost like when they released Falcons Lost incursion they said "oh **** that didn't work well , think of something quick"

I guess I can see how adding different game modes could be looked at from their point of view as hey here's something fresh or different to try. The problem is they were not as compelling towards the story.

Maybe they pissed off the Faye Laou voice actress or something and can't get more cut scene voice overs lol (probably not, just seemed funny in my head)

So let me guess, First or second time you get Master Rank 5 and now youre bored, ok, whatever. like I believe you. (rolls eyes)

Many players have played this game dozens of times and enjoyed it. Theres another forum that the developers favor and nurture cause thats where the fans go. And many new PS4 players have been happy.

Its just your personal opinion only, remember that.

I really enjoy it, it's intense and a challenge. I could see why people don't like it but for me it's just something different to do.

Your argument is basically that it is an enjoyable experience but it doesn't pet you hard enough in your Skinner box. Not every part of the game has to increase your level cap, be a multiplayer raid, or advance the story. I think it's quite cool that when I'm a little tired of the other 95% of the game, there's something I can go do on the side -- and it's a fresh, new mode that still benefits my main character in the end.

Yeah, if you're playing this game in order to receive some sense of validation, then "all" Massive has done has increased the length of the treadmill. If you're playing it because you actually enjoy the game, then they've added a pretty reasonably diverse set of activities for season pass holders to do.

DZ was doomed from the beginning

No MMO that is based on PvP or that has an endgame that moves from PvE to pure PvP has ever succeeded or become a big seller. They all die in the end. I'm talking MMO's here, not pure PvP games like Overwatch or CS that are based solely on PvP rounds.

The biggest selling games in the genre have used PvE content to get the big subscribers, and added PvP elements that did not effect the primary game play in any way. From the original EQ to WoW that has been the winning formula.

I'm talking strictly American/European style MMO's. The Asian markets are very different in that respect, they love the PvP games.

Now, I recognize that TD is hardly an MMO in the classic sense of the word, but the same thinking seems to apply. People who play the game up to DZ and then either just farm for awhile, or leave. A few people stick out the PvP elements, and keep the game going for a slight while.

Survival seems to be Massive's admission that they don't understand either the MMO or RPG markets very well. It's a mode that doesn't even try to make sense in the larger scope of the game itself. I think if they could, they would convert it to CoD/Battlefield style game. And wouldn't be surprised if that doesn't happen down the road.

Oh God please no. we have a trillion of those lookalike first person shooter , run and gun games already, The Division is unique but in the end its all about money right?
And on this same forum theres players *****ing about having to pay for Christmas sweaters and calling Massive Greedy bastards, lol.

And world tiers was added specifically to allow players to play solo. I lost count how many solo players have filled up this forum with their complaints and needs. And you call The Division a MMO when majority who have come back are solos

The hypocrisy of what people want out of this game and self fulfillment of the title is obvious amongst its players.

I see youre new btw, Welcome. Nothing personal but Ive heard it all of people saying what this game should be or shouldnt be and no one can agree.

I love that as soon as someone offers up a different opinion you come white knighting your way into the thread IKILL. Looking at your posting history it's almost like you're an employee of the company lol. If you don't like other people's opinions, don't comment on them, ignore them.

I'll ask one question, let's see if you can give a legit answer.

What has been added that furthers the story.

Are you a long lost brother? The reason I ask, is because I have wondered about Massive's payroll trying to influence the forums! I am glade others are starting to see it.😎
