It was max armor that allowed us to tank it in 1.3, but its accuracy problem was around ever since Clear Sky was added. Its bullet registration is pretty inaccurate. It fires 8 or 10 shots and then cools down for several seconds, I use this time to walk with the fuse, and just stand behind cover until the next cooldown. Other teammates are drawing mobs attention on the other side of the circle. When not carrying a fuse, how come you let it hit you in the first place? I mean there's a lot of cover practically everywhere...
As for the damage - its a large caliber aircraft mounted gun, why is it not supposed to hit hard?..
Also support station works its magic, reviving in 3 seconds to full health.
If you want to carry a fuse in front of the mobs just place 3 support stations on you path close but not overlapping each other's area of effect, and you can let mobs or auto cannon down you as many times as they want...
The only thing I don't understand in that incursion, what is "disable helicopter defenses" supposed to do?
