can someone confirm that crafting is good?

I seem to only get trash.
I just made alot of those Classic rpk-74 GS 256. And they dont even come close in DPS to my submachinegun that was found somewhere.

    Sorry for the big picture:P
But that gun is the best i could make. Good talents and high damage roll.

EDIT: Seems like the picture wasn't so big afterall.

    EDIT2: My gloves.

If your not getting any of the talents you want, leave it for a few hours then try again. The RNG is not 'that' RNG. Also, weapon and gear mods do not seem worth crafting at all at the moment, I have not had anything worth while from them, all the mods I use I have bought or looted.

Crafting definately needs some work. It is way to RNG based, it can take forever to get the stats you are looking for.

One thing about weapons though, don't look at the dps numbers when comparing them, there are some factors that can artificially inflate the numbers. The best thing to do would be to take the weapon to the range in the BoO or use it during normal play to see how it is.

You are comparing the best weapon you've got so far to the ones you are crafting. It'll take a LOT of crafting attempts, but yeah I've gotten some wicked good crafted weapons. Had to go through 120 shotgun crafts last week to get two I wanted to keep (perfect rolls) but I got them. And not like there's any other use to crafting materials anyhow...

The problem is that the crafting/recalibration feature in this game is set up to extend the playing time as much as posible. To be able to craft hundreds of gear/weapon items and then recal those along with looted ones on a regular basis, would require a huge supply of crafting mats, regular credits and Px credits to sustain this and the only way to get them is play the crap out of the game.

Crafting can be better than what you find, but you may have to craft a lot to get what you want
It took me 37 tries to end up with a good 229 G36.
Now I'm just waiting for a 256 BP so I can craft 37 of those to get what I want....
    Groan.

G36 BP? Yes please but perhaps in a matter of two weeks as I'll be away for a few weeks? Ill be GUTTED if it drops next week . Hahaha

Got enough mats to craft me a couple of hundred of them too.

Would like to confirm, however there has been no weapon BP's that I have seen for a while that are worth buying.

I've had great luck crafting electronic/firearm/stamina mods. I've also crafted some incredible backpacks and suppressors. So it's definitely worth doing if you grab the right blueprints. I think there are some stamina gloves at the moment that would be a great buy. I'm stupid and bought the mp7 blueprint but not the mp5, which I ended up liking a lot more for PvE.

As for the weapon, you're talking about one of the lowest dps LMGs in the game, and just considering numbers. The rpk is strong because it reaches insane accuracy almost instantly, has a great reload speed for an LMG, good range and has a flat damage bonus to targets out of cover. Your SMG has much lower range, and overall probably has comperable dps once you consider the LMG's damage out of cover, the ease of which the LMG gets headshots, being able to put a 12x scope on the LMG, and that the SMG relies on crits. Don't focus so much on their dps calculator.

bad roll. Craft. bad roll. Craft. bad roll. Craft. Bad ro-

*Stops playing due to doing the same thing over and over and bangs his head on a wall*

More play time. Riiiiiiight. If that's the devs idea of play time they need to get their *** in gear. 20 attempts? ok

120 shotgun crafts last week to get two I wanted to keep
    This? Hell no.

I'm reminding myself that other things in this game are keeping me interested at this point.
