Hey Ranger vet - welcome to the DIV - i t wounded lime you said you have all green so if that is the case use bolt action and get to level 30 then try both to figure out what you like best - the semi autos have higher DPS because their semi autos and they can through more bullets down range faster - a bolt action (per single bullet fired ) is much stronger than 1 single bullet fired from any semi auto - stick with a good assault rifle and a m44 bolt action or any 700 - assault rifles either G36 or m4 or lvoac or a good AK74 - stick with these til you level up to 30 and you'll be good to go bud !! Good luck
Ranger Vet, the above is good advice. If you are really lost drop me a message and I will certainly try to help you. I am not an expert by any means but certainly willing to share what I have learned.
For a sniping build there are a couple of directions you can go. Three pieces of Sentry's Call and three pieces of Hunter's Faith gives you a healthy headshot bonus. It used to be better but it is still pretty good. Another option is an Alpha Bridge build using two sniper rifles. It can be very effective but it means carrying only sniper rifles which leaves only a sidearm if you get flanked, so that build is better in team play in my opinion.
Four piece Sentry's Call is still not a bad build. Again it was better previously but a semi auto sniper rifle can help put marks on target faster (the Urban MDR is even faster) and this benefits the whole team again.
Remember when making a build that more than four pieces of one set is a waste unless you really don't have anything better to replace the extra pieces. Always try to utilise something in those additional places that brings something extra to the party (savage gloves, specialised backpack, two Striker's pieces for the extra weapon stability etc). Also get ALL your pieces together before you roll anything. Sometimes you roll a piece for Firearms and you get a 1271 or 1272 stamina or electronics roll. If that happens have a look at it and think. Sometimes it is worth taking the god roll on that piece of equipment and then rolling the Firearms on a different piece.
Before you roll look at you weapons too and be aware of your weapon talents and how much firearms, stamina and electronics each requires to unlock them. Nothing worse than getting your build set up and finding out none of your weapon talents are unlocked. You can reroll weapon talents if required or just go through your stash and pick out stuff appropriate to your build.
But don't destroy a good build just because your weapon talents are not unlocked. Weapons are easy to come by in this game and far easier to farm than the gear sets so if it comes down to it run with poor weapons in PvE and farm rather than weakening your build to fit your current weapons.
With a bit of research you will see that some weapon talents are geared towards DPS builds whilst others are more electronics based. Pick talents based on your build.
