Bought the deluxe version of Far cry 3 last night and I've not been able to connect to the servers to download the expansions, I'm really not fussed about multiplayer but I saw this was on sale last night and even though I bought the game previously on 360 I thought it was worth the money to play the expansions alone. So you can see my frustration at not being able to access these expansions. I've tried following all the online steps i could find, i turned off my firewalls and anti-virus software and still nothing, I emailed customer services almost straight away so it's been nearly 24 hours now and still no word back.

Could you solve the problem?
If you can solve it, please let me know.![]()
Still no word from support (although I guess it is Sunday) but still this is really annoying, You'd think a multi-billion dollar company like Ubisoft would have the resources to offer better support. and it's an even bigger joke that the contact number is a premium rate number, as if they don't make enough money off us!
Don't suppose you've had any joy yet have you board?
I have the same Problem.
It seems not to be a network-settings problem on my PC cause i installed it on my laptop too and it's the same.
Two friends of mine have the standard version. One via steam and the other via UPlay. Both have no problem playing co-op.
Please help.
Let me know if you fixed it.
thx
Stefan
Hey all, please head over to this thread and follow the instructions that I've left there.
same problem here - Ticket 05781756
When I try to connect to Uplay to play co-op it tells me "The far Cry 3 service is not available. Please try again later"
I have 2 cd-keys on U-Play for Far Cry 3 (one was obtained as a gift with AMD bundle and the other was purchased by mistake on Steam), not sure if that might be the problem
I have tried installing both the game Steam and U-Play but I have the same problem.
I have deactivated firewall, reset router but no success, reinstalling U-Play and followed the instructions at
https://support.ubi.com/en-US/faqs/0...Issues-PC-FC3/
I have another pc in the same local network (with a different Steam account and a different cd-key in order to play co-op) and with that pc it works with no problems (so it's not modem/router issue otherwise it would not connect also with that pc)
EDIT: I have checked firewall and router logs. Both TCP (remote 80 443) and UDP can pass, but UDP does not get any reply
EDIT 2: Regarding UDP ports (local port 9000, 21800-21845), I can see only UDP 9000 towards ip 216.98.54.140 (Ubisoft Entertainment) but it appears as unreplied (pretty suspicious)
EDIT 3: I can see this error message in the Ubisoft game launcher logs (C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\logs)
ERROR UplayUser.cpp (273) Warning: Deprecated function UPLAY_USER_GetCredentials called by 46
I found the solution for my problem. Not sure if it will work with you but it's worth trying.
In my case UplayProfile LockString was empty
Follow these steps:
1) go in C:\Users\<user name>\Documents\My Games\Far Cry 3
2) open GamerProfile.xml
3) check if UplayProfile LockString is empty. In my case it was <UplayProfile LockString="" />
4) if it's empty, rename Gamerprofile.xml --> GameProfile.old
5) Remove Uplay and reinstall it
6) Launch Far Cry 3
At this point GameProfile.xml should be recreated and now UplayProfile lockstring should be present with a string like <UplayProfile LockString="abcdefghijklmnopqr" />
