Do not need to block in direction to deflect.

No need to block just dodge with the timing you would've use for a parry and you will deflect.

Orochi lvl 17 here, practiced deflecting a lot, lost A LOT of games due to trying to nail this hard and nice looking but low reward move. I find that even if i do everything perfect it sometimes doesn't register it correctly and i simply get hit with a hard hit or even worst a combo, loose half my health, because deflect desided not to work on that time.. Might be something with the speed of the connection, idk, parry seems to be a lot more consistent, almost always working unless some super fast light attacks same with zephyr strike, and they both do about the same damage, even more with parry tbh.

The risk/reward and mechanics for deflect strike seem off.

the problem i see is that the deflect is completely ignored now. i main orochi and sometimes i practice deflects for hours at a time and im still not even close to being "ok". almost every other orochi i fight just light spams. no one wants to actually gain skill on him because his moves are so hard. im not saying he should be OP, but i would like to fight another orochi and worry about if hes good, rather than will he light spam.
