The Division Developer: I like to be a **hole in the Dark Zone

So yeah, this is what just happened!

To be honest was quite "shocked" by the audacity of the developers from today's state of the game. Not only did they admit that they like to play as ******bags in the Dark Zone, but they where also quite cocky about it.

I wouldn't necessarily care about someone stating that if is wasn't for the fact that these guys in particular are in charge of the current 1.6 PvP patch(!).

From time to time i have wondered why the Dark Zone in The Division always have been such a toxic, gank-fest, but i guess when the Dark Zone developers openly admit that this is the way the Dark Zone is supposed to be played - and the way they play it - it kinda answers my question.

I really hope they pull i together with patch 1.6 and the PvP part of the game! And please don't let these guys set the parameters for the PvP in The Division. We don't need a more unbalanced Dark Zone that favors this type of players, we need the opposite. I always help new players in the Dark Zone - and in the game in general - and that's the type of behavior we need.

Listen for yourself. Around fifteen minutes in

edit. Please keep it sivil my fellow agents, even tough this type of behavior from the developers speaks volume - and is something we should speak very strongly against - we don't need a screaming contest. We need to address this in a civil matter. That's all.

Well I hope they enjoy it because they are going to be part of a minority that is left playing this game because the DZ is more important than the rest of the game that they need to stay alive.

After months of developments that favor rogues and pk in dz, we should all have figured out by now that their preference is pvp play in the game. We thought with 1.4 they had realized that TD wasnt their personal playground to **** around with. But it is clear they are still trying to get people to go in the dz to be ganked. (Example: best mods still sold in dz stores.)

The only way they are ever going to listen to the community is when players leave in droves. Right now theyre sitting pretty. They've had good press since 1.4 dropped, and prices have been slashed to bring new players in. If these new players end up leaving maybe they will figure out that TD belongs to their customers, not them.

Well maybe they should start listening then, the Steam charts (and they have the same significance they had pre 1.4) are showing a hefty downward trend again. The 24 hour peak numbers ten days ago were approx 21k, now they are approx 10.5k (50% down) and are at lows of around 5k. The overall platforms numbers will spike on release of PS4 Survival, but if the Steam stats are anything to go by, that will probably disappear in a couple of weeks.

People are still surprised at what the DZ is?

This is news to me. Well, unless you're a new player.

I learned long before that video that Massive was a bunch of D-bags.

Not surprised, just baffled by the audacity that some of the developers seemingly have.

I played since the beta, and i seen it all. Unlike many others i actually want PvP in The Dark Zone, but i want an balanced and fair version of it.

This was the STOG stream (earlier today) I mentioned in a couple of other threads.

It does not bode well for the long-term future of this game because the root of the problem for why TD will never get better is the developers vision... or lack thereof... And how they refuse to see "ganking" and 4 vs 1 is NOT fun for the vast majority of players.

Plus, they plan to add leader boards to the mix which means A) Only those with a lot of time on their hands are going to do well (and be rewarded with increased loot), B) There is still NO anti-cheat on the PC version which makes any score(s) meaningless to begin with.

    What a mess.

I am so disappointed in this game because it had SO much potential, IMO, but it has been wasted by incompetent developers every step of the way.

So, if you're a PVE / Solo player... The game is pretty much over for you (us), now, it seems?

Such a waste... Especially the Season Pass. What a sick joke...

I have said this from day one. The first interviews these clown devs made stated what they were and just what we could expect, nothing but **** from an immature developer.

These clowns are self professed *******s and enjoy making the DZ in their image and their play style, I wouldn't put it past the devs to be using cheats either seeing what these clowns are like. It takes a pretty stupid developer to say the things they did on this stream and not think there will not be repercussions for the larger community.

These clowns cant seem to get it through their thick skulls that they are making this game for a tiny niche of toxic gamer's, the ganking set of players, the devs being the same, and not programming for the mass majority. And when they do what little programming for the majority it is as little as possible and always second class, example, more everything for gankers, exp, loot, etc. They will never get it, they seem to like low populations and even less people to buy product from Ubisoft.

I am amazed Ubisoft hasn't talked to them and told them to retract their attitude because that state of the game just cost them gamers.

Like many others stated, 1 step forward, 5 steps back, insert foot into mouth, *******es.

Well, a developer is just another player in-game, so I don't expect no more from them. Outside of the game, kudos to the work you put into this huge complexity.

A lot of pro gamers are *******es, even on camera. They might not be developers, but they still hold the "professional" title, even if in this context it's subjective.
