Being a cop is stupid and frustrating.
Spawns me into walls, trees, guard rails, buildings, rocks. Steering on my cars change for the worst . Driving around in freedrive doing nothing waiting for a mission. Can't do anything else or I can't join in the chase. Level 1497 can't catch up to a level 870 runner. Other cop cars jump out in front of you and ram you off the road. My cop car darts at anything to throw me off the road and dammage my car. Not enough chases as a cop 1 every 10 min .Anyone else experiencing these issues?.
I have no idea what car you picked that while maxed out couldn't catch up to the almost stock tranporter. You can always change it mid-chase though, to another spec. And do mind that due to no spec limitations every transporter running anything else than a good Perf or a Circuit is basically at a disadvantage. No matter how good a driver you are, you cannot escape in a Street from a Circuit.
When "getting back on track", always wait for the transporter to be on a straight road (if you can see him on the map). Helps avoid all the crap this terrible system likes to throw you at. AI ramming cop players is a sad reality. Not being able to join a chase that started before your very eyes is silly too. No idea what you mean by damaging your car, as taking part in any chase basically repairs your car to full. As far as I understand (or rather as my friend told me), joining a chase doubles your current car hp, and it goes back to normal afterwards, but not proportional, so you end up with e.g. 109 / 60, so it defaults to 60 / 60. All my cars I use in chases are endlessly at full hp.
I really like playing cop. I LIKE IT. But I'm really tired of all the bullshot around it and I gotta voice my frustration with cop play.
1) There is little reason to use any other pursuit car than the Gallardo. Especially on asphalt, I rarely see runners use anything that's not Circuit spec, and rightfully so. Because runners have little reason to use anything else than their fastest car. And even offroad missions tend to route on asphalt or end in a city, which is where a pursuit Circuit car usually catches Dirt, Raid and Monster specs within the first kilometer. Even if runners drive the first 10 kilometers offroad, when they eventaully reach asphalt, pursuit Gallardo can just teleport to them and catch up with them with ease. The only thing that can stop them is a team of support runners who know what they're doing and use their disruption flawlessly.
2) Crate matchmaking is atrocious. Cops have no way of getting into a chase other than wait for the system to offer them one. They can't enter a "patrol mode" that would place them in a queue for crate chases. They can't guard a crate because every time I try that, I see a player drive through the crate and disappear and no chase is triggered even after a few minutes. They can't even enter a "patrol mode" that would automatically refuse other activities like skills, missions, monuments or whatever those activities are that prevent me from joinig a chase.
3) I often get invitation cancellations "because I'm doing another activity" even if I'm not doing anything, just driving around or looking at the map. So the system flags me with an activity for no reason. And it doesn't even tell me what that supposed activity is.
4) After 10 minutes of waiting, I often get invited in a chase that ends in 1 km or less. So the system doesn't bother to ask me all that time or doesn't see me or whatever it is.
5) When I play as the runner, AI cops have the fastest cars in the world. They catch me even if I'm going 430+ km/h. When I play the cop and I'm going after a circuit spec runner at 430+ km/h, these cars ram me from behind off the road. When I catch up to a runner and start arresting them at full speed, they ram either me or the runer off the road and out of my reach. If the runner crashes and I'm arresting them in a standstill, they again ram either me or the runner away from me. When I'm playing the runner, they never ram me when I'm standing still.
6) More often than not, If a runner veers off the road and I'm arresting him, they magically return to the road 300m away from me. I can't explain that because when I'm being a runner, I can only return to the road if there are no cops near me.
7) Since cops can't pick their crate chases, I get often invited in chases for crates I've already completed. I don't want to run those. And there is no option to filter those.
8) If I want to do a crate chase as a cop, it's pointless to do anything else besides waiting. Being in the HQ and fiddling with my cars prevents me from getting an invite. Driving around might prevent me from getting an invite. Doing skills prevents me from getting an invite. Basically everything that could ease my waiting can prevent me from getting an invite. And WAITING IS SO BORING, especially in a racing game. And sometimes even not doing anything counts as an activity that prevents me from getting an invite.
All in all, playing as a cop is boring not because the racing isn't fun, but because of all the waiting and other bullshot that is happening so often. I want to be able to QUEUE as a cop. I want to be able to GUARD a specific crate or area. I want to have an OPTION to not get invites for crates I've COMPLETED. I want to eb able to DO STUFF while I'm WAITING for a chase.
I generally agree. Being a Cop sucks. Especially now that most transporters know what their doing. I'm down to about 1 in 4 tries getting a bust.
All the cop cars suck, except perhaps for the Huayra, but that's only really good for the city bits. Can I have the AI cop cars that can drive as well on everything and catch up to people going 250 mph.Or how about a cop Helicopter?
I mostly only do Cop missions when I'm doing my faction friend mission resets as that's the only thing that won't kill the invites, though there's a crash bug when joining from the world map, so you have to exit the world map, then join when you get an invite. I've found just driving around doing drifts in my Gallardo seems to be o.k. too. I at least can make some bucks and am not sitting still. Or maybe wrecking everything in my Abarath as the cops won't come after you.
Restarting the game gets me invites almost every time too if you get really desperate. Changing your car spec I've been told works too, I haven't tested it out, but I seem to remember getting invites within a minute after switching to the Hummer or back to the Gallardo.
But it's not really worth being a Cop anyway, so why bother? I'd say at least I have cop cars I can use in PVP, Skills, Summit and Faction missions, but as I said, they all suck except the Huayra, oh and the Abarath is good in the Monster Trial too. Give me a Cop Skyline in Street, Dirt & Raid (or better yet a Crown Vic that's better than a Skyline), and a Cop GT & Ninja in Circuit, and maybe a Drag Spec of some sort so I can actually catch up to those circuit cars, and I'd be happy.
But no, we're getting a Hidden Car next, and they all suck, so more of the same.

The reason racers disapear sometimes is because if you don't have ps plus or xbox gold as a racer no one can join you. As a cop you can only chase people with ps plus/xbox gold and as a racer you can't join another racer and another racer can't join you. If they remove it that you need these subscriptions, the wait for cops on racers will be much shorter.
I'd say no. If you didn't have WR, then I'd say yes as you get that too, and adding bikes is a must. If it drops to around $10, that's about the value I put on it.Originally Posted by fubenalvo_hu Go to original post
I don't have CAU, but this regularly happens to me, too, as a racer. Cruising, doing nothing, and I get a notification saying that I'm in an activity and can't join a chase. What?Originally Posted by Andrewok Go to original post
