I've never seen the fog and I've been playing the game for 40 hours. That said it baffles me that nobody notices the broken self shadowing in the game. Every ******* cutscene has broken self shadows which are showing up incorrectly. I've made a topic about it but nobody posts in it and they are ignoring the issue. I paid for a beta. I compared it to the PS4 version and it is definitely broken on PC for EVERYONE. But PC gamers seem to not notice obvious flaws.

I've seen the fog many times, I don't know why people are complaining given the fact that it's random, you can't expect it to be there all the time. Anyway, here are a few shots I made:

Nandiman, if you don't have a top notch video card you won't have the resolution required for the fog to display.

That is why they don't see it. I never saw it on my old GTX 680 but saw it several times after upgrading to a GTX 1080.

    A good design choice.

Yeah I didn't see it until I upgraded. Now it's there like every day!

when you think that this "effect" could easyly be achieve with a simple fog effect, ( just need to set the opacity - altitude - visibility distance thing you can have in the Cryengine2 from 2008 ) and smartly somes particles for the "cloud" effect..

It indeed totaly worth it to have the "same thing" BUT eating around 20++ fps when activated because it was coded with feets
