I have no faith that they will do anything that we ask for anymore unless we are the overwhelming majority. Unfortunately, the people who care the most about this game only make up about 1% of its players. We aren't the ones that "keep the game alive".
I used to tell people about this game and how good it was. I used to recommend it. I used to buy all the Trials games and DLC as soon as it came out.
After this experience, I will never spend another penny on a RL game. I know that may sound unfair, but it's how I feel. I have put a lot of my time into this game, and being part of this community, and I wouldn't trade that for anything. Overall, I have enjoyed my time here more than I have been upset, but RL doesn't listen to its core players.
I know my opinions are shared by some others, but not by most. That's also fair. What is not fair, and no one can argue, is adding an OP bike to an existing leaderboard. It's just simply not fair. It happened once, we all showed how we felt about it. Now, you have decided to do it again. Now I know where the priorities lie.
I sincerely hope I am wrong.
Except that we are. The 1% that is the top echelon of the leaderboards typically has good overlap with the 'whales' of the mobile gaming industry. The only people that are going to buy their ridiculously overpriced $30 packages of an outfit and some currency are those heavily invested in the game already - aka us. Given this, it stands to reason that they would not want to piss us off and drive us away.Originally Posted by justinman114 Go to original post
It is thoroughly frustrating that the KTM introduction has broken the previous leaderboards. In Tier 1, RedLynx dropped the 500-EXC on us, we reacted by having our jaws hit the floor, public outcry ensued, and most of us finally sucked it up and started grinding all the tracks over again. One would have thought they would listen to the distress of the community. Alas, we see that is not the case. The worst part is there are so many other ways to implement this without such damage to the game.
Putting it in a separate leaderboard likely won't achieve their goals, which is publicity and product placement for KTM. I, for one, don't give a crap about the crazy bike leaderboards. The great news is RedLynx already solved this issue with the Trials Evolution DLC! They introduced the Banshee, which for some tracks would have been superior to the Phoenix. However, they limited the Banshee to use only in DLC tracks, and not the initial game, keeping the integrity of the leaderboards intact. I doubt this would be hard to implement in Trials Frontier as well. Just limit the use of the KTM 450 to tracks released with or after the KTM 450, and prevent its use in all previously released Tier 2 tracks. Great solution for everyone. Good product placement on the primary global leaderboards, we get a fun new bike to play with, and most importantly it doesn't destroy everything we have worked so hard for to date.
As a big fan of the Mantis - far and away my favourite bike - please don't kill it like you did the Tango.
TL;DR Don't ruin the leaderboards like you did with the release of the KTM 500-EXC. Limit the 450's use to Tier 2 tracks released afterwards, and integrate those with the global leaderboards.
Well said, and I can see it from this perspective too. All good points, and I like the idea to keep the new bike to new tracks only, that is TOTALLY FAIR for everyone, and I would even use it (unlike the KTM-500, which I refuse to useOriginally Posted by Ch4er0n Go to original post).
Sorry, what are people talking about here with a Tier 2 KTM? I haven't seen anything about such a thing other than in this thread.
This would be the best solution, please make this happen. It would make everyone happy. Like RedLynx did with the DLC on Trials Evolution, it was fair. Don't ruin the leaderboards another time, this would chase your last true fans from the game...Originally Posted by Ch4er0n Go to original post
Another KTM? Ugghhh! I was hoping for something cool like a Christini along with some new tracks designed specifically for its AWD abilities. And of course, a dedicated leaderboard for it!
Back in the days on Trials Evolution, we were told by RedLynx that it would be unfair to allow the new DLC bike (Gecko) on the original tracks. Also the Gecko was a worse bike than the Phoenix so it wouldn't have improved any record anyway. People asked to play the old tracks with the new Gecko bike, so RedLynx decided to release the original career tracks on Track Central with only the Gecko available (aka dedicated leaderboards for the new bike). That was completely fair for everyone and we were all happy with that. Man this time seems so far away...Originally Posted by NO-bwestlie-TFG Go to original post
I really hope that the developers will understand how important this is. Making the new bike only available on the future tracks is the perfect solution. But if they ever decide to ignore our tips, I don't want to ever see a developer speaking about "leaderboard integrity" on these forums, because this is the exact opposite of integrity.

I am – being just an average player – on the other side.
I will warmly welcome any new bike in any Tier class, even a faster, better bike than the others. It will definitely shake up the leaderboard. And? If a player can achieve a good rank with the old bikes, will definitely achieve a same good rank with a faster bike too. Don't want to be dropped behind? Ride!
There are many people who have been continuously complaining about the lack of new content. Me too. Here it comes. I agree it is not a real new content, not a storyline content, but finally something new. Something that will give a "fizz" to the game. You have all the tracks on platinum? You have all bikes maxed? You have all the outfits? You have millions of coins? You have everything? The boredom is over for you.
This game brings out again and again the ambition, combat morale, anger and pride from ourselves wery well. (If the cap fits…)
NOW YOU HAVE TO RIDE HARD AGAIN!
I know there are lot of mates who fear for losing his rank, and want to keep it ’til the end of time, but hey, this game is all about proving. You have to prove, we have to prove, again and again.
Even riding a new bike on the old leaderboard.
This is a GAME.
This is my very own opinion.
