I suppose being a gunner for a vic or a M240B gunner would eliminate lefty shooting concerns...problem then is you'd be stuck in a truck or have to lug around an incredibly heavy machine gun. Either isn't a great option lol. 😅
What I remember people just shot from which side was more natural for them. No one switched shoulders because of the shells. Then again maybe it doesn't matter so much with AK variants?
Was fun though when sometimes buddy next to you was too close and shells start hitting your helmet.

I just want to take a second to give it up for the puns in this thread.

I wasn't in the beta but watched a bunch of videos about it. Based on what i saw, it's not looking good for my dream of having a left handed character.

I'm hoping someone can tell me I'm wrong but I didn't see a weapon in a left hand once. No matter which shoulder the camera hangs over or which side the player was peering around cover (as was discussed earlier in this thread).

I did play the CB and when ADS in 3rd person view you can, with a push of a button, go right shoulder to left shoulder back and forth. I don't know if it remembers if you were left the net time to ADS.

    Cheers.

Thanks! Do you actually switch what hand you're holding your weapon in?

I am pretty sure that yes. It is why using a controller including playing console, it involves taking your finger off the trigger to perform the action.

Same system as The Division for shoulder switch.

So I've been playing the game since launch. I'm having an absolute blast with it. You can ALMOST make your character left handed! Hanging the camera over the shoulder is a vaguely close approximation of actually having a left handed character. So with all that said, I really feel bad for complaining about this:

Can you just give me an option to just make my character fully left handed. They always switch back to the right hand when you're not aiming down sight! It's so close (and i'm terrible for complaining about this) but can't you just let me go all the way left handed?!? the animation is already in the game, just make it stick!

OK rant over. sorry about that and thanks for listening. I really do love the game and would continue playing it either way.

They wouldn't have to add a left-handed version of every gun in the game, if that's what you're implying. Conventional rifles like the AR-15 can be operated by lefties just fine. The only real issue is most bullpups, as you can't fire one left handed without getting hot brass flung at your face at best or completely blocking the ejection port at worst. And in the case of the L85, you have the added issue of a reciprocating charging handle that will break your jaw.

Not to mention: in real life you'd need to fabricate a bunch of parts to make a weapon left handed. In this videogame, on the other hand (and maybe I'm being optimistic here) you'd simply need to mirror the weapon asset.
