so i think i might have found a possible fix for this problem, instead of closing the game with game menu i alt+tabbed and closed it from task manager, it seems to have fixed the problem for me but i didn't have time to do alot of testing so i would appreciate it if some of you guys can test and confirm/deny it
Same exact problem here. It's intermittent, but it seems to be more common if I am playing the game for an extended period of time (>1 hour). When I exit the game, Windows is sluggish, new programs will not launch, the start menu will not open, and I can't even get task manager to open. I have to hard reset my computer every time this happens. This is pretty unacceptable for a AAA title and I hope Ubi figures this out soon. I'm not going to keep putting my computer at risk with hard resets just to play WD2.
I'm running on a Razer Blade 2016 (GTX 1060) Windows 10 Anniversary.
same issue
i5 4670k
gtx970 latest whql drivers
win10 fully updated
all the c++ redists, 2005, 2008, 2010, 2013, 2015 x32 and x64 latest versions installed.
it doesn't happen every time I close the game, but it's always related to me closing the game.
basically, I cannot open the task manager, nor restart the PC, only pressing the reset button on the case works.
same here, last week i have all days a pendrive connected, then close the game and try to open taskmanager and other programs and nothing happens, then i unplug the usb and all programs i try to open appears. Now i play without pendrive usb and i don't have any time more this problem since 10 days ago.
If anyone have a pen, try disconnecting before open the game maybe at someone will works.
quit to main menu so the game is saved properly, and then alt+f4. this fixes the issue and is faster than alt tab to close a process.Originally Posted by Junguler Go to original post
