I have THE SAME PROBLEM. My frame rate during Cut Scenes is very high and doesn't stutter. When I drive cars and walk in the city the FPS drops to 4. In cut scenes the FPS is about 170. Please HELP!!!!!

I'd just like to add that i'm having the same issue, the tutorial was fine, but once in the city, especially when driving, for every 5 seconds of gameplay there's a 1 sec pause and some stuttering afterwards. It's basically unplayable Oh, and it doesn't really matter what settings i choose, happens on LOW as well, maybe not that pronounced.

    HW: Windows10, i5 6600k, 16gb, 1070gtx (8gb, 376.09), game installed on SSD. Uplay version.

I'm having the same performance issues as well. I have an i7-5820k @ 3.3 GHz, ROG STRIX 1080 (boost clock of 1835 MHz), 16 GB DDR4 2400, and the game runs like ***. Here's a short video that I posted on YouTube:

Even with using the new Nvidia driver's optimal settings, my game cannot reach 60 FPS in broad daylight. Even if I were to turn the settings down to medium/low, the performance is still erratic. At night, however, the game is a bit more stable.

I found a temporary fix to the low FPS issue during daytime in-game. You have to use hack vision and maintain it if you want to run around without having constant dips in FPS.

This is quite frankly unacceptable. We PC gamers waited an additional 2 weeks, and this is what we received? I recently had to deal with Dishonored 2's disastrous launch and now I have to put up with this crap. The fact that people with high-end rigs are having issues with Watch Dogs 2 speaks volume about its bad optimization. C'mon Ubisoft!

    I7-4790K @ 4ghz, GTX 1080

Playing at 1080p on Ultra, game is literally unplayable; can hardly move around, mouse movements seem to worsen these amazing dips. Let the video do the talking:

Please PM me when this game is playable, it seems interesting and putting Tower of Power's "So Very Hard To Go" on the intro is a sure way into my heart.

I have a similar problem with 5820k@4600mhz, 64gig and GTX1080. I can have 100 Frames and the Game does the same yours does, but not so extreme. It happes on all settings, extreme or low. With Vsync On it is even worse. Win 7 64bit, latest drivers. Asus X99 USB3.1, Sound over Onboard Soundcard (Realtek)

Well, as hard as it is to believe, that worked. I actually uninstalled the display driver, restarted, and then let geforce experience reinstall the latest (the same...) driver. Problem solved. nVidia needs to sort their drivers out instead of pushing their fancy downloader that noone asked for.
