    Survival division tech......

This needs to be removed for making HE guns in the DZ. I can get to the DZ every play-through on Survival, but have huge difficulty defeating the enemies there. This is mainly because i'm trying to kill them with (at best) a crappy purple weapon, or (at worst) a blue weapon.

Ah ha, look for more crafting materials/loot, kill more bad guys before you go to the DZ, i hear you cry. Unfortunately, i never seem to have enough time to do this. There just doesn't seem to be enough meds, to keep the infection at bay, so i need to get to the DZ ASAP (within reason).

I played Survival yesterday and got to the DZ (again), managed to kill some Vet and Elite Mobs, looted some crafting materials AND made it to a Safe House, on my way to the Anti-virals.

GREAT (i thought), time to craft me a HE weapon to make things a little easier. This way i'll be able to down the NPCs quickly and won't be wasting what time i have left, rolling around the DZ, avoiding incoming, because it takes an age to kill them.

Soooooooo, what shall i craft?..........................Oh that's right...............SWEET FA!!!!!!!! WHAT THE FRAK!!! I NEED DIVISION TECH AS WELL!!! I am assuming to get DT i need to down a named enemy, or it's lying around the DZ somewhere? Argggghhhhhhhh!!!..............

Ok, ok......calm down. Phew, got a little carried away there.

Please, just take DivTech out of the equation for crafting HE weapons once you're in the DZ.

Thanks for listening and happy gaming everyone

You can find division tech containers in contaminated zones and landmarks. FYI. Not that hard to find unless its already been looted.

I'm consistently rolling 2 gold weapons (with mods), 3 gold gear pieces and 4-5 gold gear mods every survival match.

Thanks for the info, but aren't landmarks normally guarded by a lot of mobs (Vets and Elites)? As i mentioned (at best if i'm lucky) i'm using a purple weapon. Still got blue/purple gear on, so am very squishy. I don't know, maybe it's me. Is it me? But to be honest, it would just make Survival more fun. I have played around 10 times and only made it to the extraction twice, without HE gear. Hunters are too strong for me, so it's frustrating to not finish after spending an hour or so getting there.

I usually end up with 26-30 division tech. Div Tech + crafting materials allows me to craft 2 weapons (G36 and custom m44), 8 weapon mods, 6 gold gear pieces and 5 gear mods. I even craft a pistol to get to GS163. Next i farm 6 bosses and always extract 6 survival cashes. Usually i have at least 15 min on my timer left. For now i have more than 20 extractions.Got all the achievements.
Open your map and look for contaminated areas. That a best advice i can give you. I always farm DZ5 and DZ6 . As i said before - you can find more then 30 division tech there. Most of the time you don't even need to fight with NPCs. You can also find a lot of painkillers/medicine in contaminated areas.

Regarding " hunters are too strong" . With GS 163 and M44 i was able to kill 6 hunters. There were 6 dead agents (probably 2 or 3 groups), so i decided to loot their bodies and got into the fight with 6 hunters.Just sniped them all! M44 rules in survival !

So how's that tactic work? Example, how much time is on your death clock when you get into the DZ? I ask as there are no meds in the DZ so spending time just collecting meds to cover yourself takes a long time. Is it because you're used to the DZ and how to sneak past mobs to get the tech better than us DZ-virgins?

I do ok and I manage extracts but only by piggy backing on someone elses extract.

Around 45 min on my timer. As soon as i get into DZ i get 2 division tech ( i know almost all locations) and craft 2 weapons and , if i have enough materials, few gold gear pieces. Next farm for more div tech/medicine/crafting materials in DZ 5/6 and then craft everything else. Final step - farm bosses. The total session time is around 1 hour 45min.

I see, my priorities are wrong. I'm getting to the DZ (usually) with over 30mins left but with +20 clothing and stocked up with meds (three of everything).

BUT...I'm only thinking of getting Div Tech to craft the flare gun, with your tactic the priority is Div Tech to get a better gun which in turn allows you to farm more Div Tech.

I'll try that. I know I suffer as I don't know the DZ as well so that will always be an issue.

Another advice - IMHO best skills are pulse and turret. You can use Heal instead of pulse, but turret is a must! Try to craft it as early as possible. Its very effective - it does significant damage and NPCs are focusing on it, allowing you to easily snipe them all from the distance without taking any damage.

You pretty much have to remember where "stuff" is at. I've played Survival many times, and no matter where I spawn in the game, I know where to go to get some good stuff. As for the DZ, same thing, you just gotta make it past Veterans. Bosses also drop Division tech, but people don't farm bosses, which is funny because the only loot that matters in Survival DZ are Survival caches. I just say "Hey, more for me." Lol.

You can revive yourself with the support station, plus you're getting a constant heal, if you ever find yourself in bad positioning.

Thanks to all, for supplying the information in this thread. Yesterday i managed to complete my first extraction in Survival. It was a close call with only 2 min 30 secs on my 'Death Clock', but i managed it. With the advice by those in this thread, i concentrated on crafting the advanced filter and farmed the contaminated areas in the DZ. Crafted a HE G36 and an MP5 and a few HE pieces of gear (none rolled with stamina ) Didn't have time to try and kill any named enemies, so just extracted the 6 sealed caches i picked up.

I was well chuffed. How some of you have over 40 mins left when you get to the DZ i don't know, but clearly i can now refine the way i do things to improve the time i have.

    Thanks again to all
