PC Players have not been able to play the game in fullscreen since 1.5 resulting in low framerates and input lag. Several threads on this already exist with no solution being presented other than Please give us DxDiag info.
When will this issue be fixed? For some of us the game is unplayable in Windowed.
Responses such as "Hey we are looking into this" are not helpful at all.

we do need some serious progress on this issue, it's a massive bug which definitely impacts the experience. Not able to go fullscreen has two fairly important knock on effects - 1 not being able to alter the brightness and more importantly, 2 - crossfire will not work as it's not in fullscreen which cripples performance drastically.
Crossfire doesn't work in windowed mode? Strange, SLI works for me.
I couldn't get into fullscreen with SLI enabled, it would just crash the game when trying to change modes. So I disabled SLI, loaded the division and changed to fullscreen. Closed the division and enabled SLI again and now it works.

Patch doesnt work or hasnt been released, as I'm still crashing if I want full screen. Turning off DX12 doesnt work (it resets as on everytime). Removing all overlays doesnt work. Deleting the Division's My Document based folder doesnt work. Funnily enough it worked fine for me BEFORE the latest update.
Please get a fix out asap. It cannot be that hard to sort out Fullscreen running!
I was playing the game, with no issues, just 2 days ago... No hitches at all, besides the occasional crash to desktop; but that rarely happened, and I could always get back into the game and play again with no issues. Hell, there were even times when the game would load up in windowed mode randomly, but I could always set it back to fullscreen mode without any issues.
However, come today, I load up the game... it loads into windowed mode, and the moment I switch it to fullscreen... CRASH to desktop! What gives?!?! I had not changed a single thing on my PC since two days ago when i last played. I was running the game with no problems what so ever, and the game actually ran silky smooth for my PC. I've been using the latest nvidia drivers (376.33) since they came out in December. Yet, now I'm all of a sudden being affected by a game-bug that was reported back in November, and was supposed to be fixed already?!?!... And now, it's now nearly 2 months later and all of a sudden I'm now having this issue when I never had it before?!?!
This is ridiculous; that the developers can't fix something like this within a timeframe of two months... I'm seriously unhappy with this!
Okay, I have an update to my situation... I went ahead and did some troubleshooting, to see if I could fix the fullscreen crashing and get my game back into fullscreen and into the game. I was, in fact, successful, and am now able to get back into the game with it set to fullscreen...
Firstly, My main PC specs are as follows:
- Intel i7 3770K (no overclocking),
- EVGA GTX 970,
- Corsair 16GB DDR3 ram.
In addition, I'm running Win 10, and the input latency and DX12 settings are enabled in The Division.
Alright... so, 2 days ago, I was running the game without any issues. The game was running smooth; my FPS was 60+ (I have a 144hz montior). Then, come today, I load the game up and it decides to load into windowed mode (even though I had not changed any settings; it did this randomly on it's own). When I hit ALT+Enter, I got a CTD with no Uplay crash report. Next, I loaded the game and instead of hitting ALT+Enter, I waited til the game loaded, went into settings, and changed the settings to Fullscreen. Again, CTD with no error reporting. That is when I made the post above.
Well, after that, I found a few forum posts on this forum, talking about the Uplay overlay being a potential culprit. Therefore, I turned of the Uplay overlay and tried again. First tried ALT+Enter and got CTD, and then tried to change the actual setting, and still got a CTD. After that, I found a post on reddit talking about how the Steam overlay could also be a potential culprit. Therefore, I left Uplay's overlay turned off, and then also turned of the Steam overlay, and loaded the game back up... I hit ALT+Enter, and low and behold, the game went to Fullscreen w/o a CTD!! Houston, we have lift off!!! When this worked, I made sure to test it out and jumped into the game and farted around for a few moments... and everything seems to be working again as it should be. YAY!
However, I didn't stop there... Instead, I decided to try and troubleshoot a little further. So, I closed the game, and one by one, turned the overlays back on. First, I left Steam overlay off, and turned Uplay overlay back on. I loaded the game, and it loaded up already in fullscreen mode and worked just fine. So I closed the game again, and this time, while still leaving Uplay overlay ON, I also turned the Steam overlay back on. After I did that, I loaded the game again, which, again, loaded up already in fullscreen mode... and again, the game continued to remain in fullscreen mode with both overlays on!
Therefore, I have come to the conclusion that this Fullscreen CTD issue is ONLY occuring when the game, for whatever reason, forgets that it was already set in Fullscreen, and decides to randomly launch in windowed mode, which seems to happen on random occasions. Therefore, when the game loads into windowed mode, and the overlays are on... switching the game to fullscreen from windowed mode is what seems to be causing the CTD. If the game actually launches into fullscreen mode already, it appears the overlays can be on, as the game is not having to switch from windowed mode TO fullscreen mode.
Anyways... hope this info helps both the developers and other gamers in finally being able to get back into this wonderful game in fullscreen without any CTDs!
