I think it should also be mentioned, that you can't just rip the sword out of that sheath as fast as you can.
The blades are extremely sharp, the sheathes are made of wood. If your technique isn't 100% perfect, you easily cut off your own hand.

But it all comes down to Technique like you said but mostly Focus and Concentration.
