Legend has it, that some Samurai reached such high levels of mastery, they could fight it out without a single attack.
Naturally, meant was the experience and mastery of perception that let them gather information and communicate with nothing but eyes and body. The grip on their swords, the posture of their arms to secure it, the direction of their gaze as one made a step. Practicing both Iaido as well as Muay Thai I know all these details make a huge difference. They tell enough about the experience, techniques, skill and condition of the fighter to fill pages and possibly even decide the outcome of the fight.
After watching dozens of hours worth of For Honor combat, at some point I was reminded of this rumor and it clicked. I actually thought to myself: With this combat system, people might actually be able to reach a level of mastery where a simplified version of the combat phenomenon mentioned above could become a thing.
