We all see posts from people complaining about different aspects of the game being too difficult or some weapons / skill being overpowered. It usually results in someone saying "git gud" or "go play a different game because this game obviously isn't for you."
Here's a thought:
How about offering to help and guide them through the complexities of the game. Offer to walk them through how to set up a gear set. Educate them about talents and abilities. We all enjoy the game and we all want to get the most out of the game. The more we can help people the more people will stick with the game and that can only be a good thing for all of us.
Last night a friend and myself came across a player running around the DZ and he appeared to be really nervous. We invited him into our group and found out he had only been playing for 2 weeks and he really didn't understand the gear sets, weapon mods, abilities etc. We spent around 5 hours helping him. We saw him transformed in both build knowledge and confidence. We may have sacrificed our play time, but we came away happy knowing we had helped a fellow gamer get much more satisfaction out of the game.
It's good to help.
Well said.
I played a challenge mode mission not long back with a random group. None of us were using mics but we worked well together and once we'd finished, no one seemed in a rush to leave.
I popped a marker on the location of the closest open world boss and headed out. To my surprise, everyone followed. We ended up taking out about four bosses before I ran out of time.
Before I logged off I shared all the loot I'd just gained. I just wanted to say thanks for following. It had been fun, but before I knew it, everyone was sharing everything with each other.
It was great. So much in this game seems intent on creating mistrust or outright competition between players, its great when players buck the trend to work for each other!
