    sniper shooting!

    Hi All.

we know there is snipers in game and you can Access to its optics. hows that going to effect on battle. there is penetration and range. is there still possible to shoot from 200m to head. yeas. with sniper. but is it possible to take same shot with pistol that same range when you aim higher? that would be nice if you can.

i would like to see some epic long range shots with pistols. so if game gives bulletdrop and some kind of realism in shooting that would be awesome.

you can get hurt from explosions from distance if not in cover so that is realism.

so is there traveltime for bullet and bulletdrop? or is it just shoot straight always? where you aim, you gonna hit instant. like in GTA V and that was *BEEEB* system

We don't really know much of anything about how the ballistics will behave. All we've gotten are "making of" videos of them claiming how realistic the weapons are supposed to be. The weapons probably aren't going to be anymore realistic than they are in Battlefield 1. If you are expecting Arma 3 level realism, then you are looking in the wrong place, because there is no other shooter on the market that compares to Arma 3.

I'm not certain of what I'm saying right now, but in the night mission that they showed at twitchCon I believe, u could see the bullet drop and the travel time.

if u compare the sniper shot at 4:10 from 379m and the sniper shot at 4:25 from 130m, you can see that there is travel time, not a lot, but come on, that not even 400m and as for the bullet drop, well maybe it's present at the 4:10 shot but I'm not even sure anymore XD We need more long distance shot ASAP

Yes there is a bullet drop and it's important to get a good position and the rught scope to use on you sniper rifle because if you miss the target will alert the people around and sound the alarm to call reinforcement.

so if my position is 1200m from target and 150m higher in game and i somehow manage to get miss and i gotta suppressor on. does that mean that every body in my line of sight get alarmed right away? (target is lets say 500m from compund or camp.

what im trying to figure out is: how long is drawline. what is maximum distance to see a enemy? 100m or 500m in game. for example. in other game you can see a camp at 600m. only proplem is that you cant see anybody walking there unless you go further in like 200m away from camp. i would just stay away and shoot bad guys from great distances.

Can't tell you about the bullet drop cause the devs know better, what I mean by if you miss even with a silencer is that the target will hear something near him and recognize that someone tried to shoot him.

There will be ennemies that will be hidden behind buildings and inside those and when getting out if they see a corps they will sound the alarm.

Being a sniper is openning the way to you mates so they can get inside the camp without being detected by tower guards or other sentinels and ofcorse cover they back if a ennemie flank them.

You could take them out by yourself but you would have to move around the camp and if a ennemie passes near a corpse then check mate and alarm is on.

Will wind speed and direction have an effect on bullet trajectory? Is Coriolis effect a factor?

The game is not Arma, or AA don't expect that kind of realism.

    [redacted]

I smell the "And then they talk about authenticity etc...." when I remember perfectly that in OGR they were no bullet drop so don't come after that saying it isn't a ghost recon game.

This isn't about becoming Arma 3. Wind speed and direction is something that should have been in every shooter that claims to be realistic at this point. Its like comparing the level of detail put into the damage that every type of bullet and gun will do in Battlefield 1 with Arma 3; it may not be as "authentic" or detailed, but its there. Same goes with wind speed and direction; it may not be as "authentic" as Arma 3, but it will be in the game regardless. I made myself very clear from the start, that a poor mans version of Arma would have been what Ghost Recon became had Ubi Soft stuck to the goal of realism, and by poor mans, I mean a less realistic version of it. If the weather will have an effect on how vehicles will behave in this game as well as your clothes, then why half-anus it and not have it effect the weapons?
