    Armor Colors

From those alpha gameplays ive seen so far, there is only three-color schemes to choose from, I personally didnt like any of the schemes they gave us, i rather have a badass all-black or all-white armor, but regarding Attacker and Defender colors, do we really need them??? i can tell the difference between the two of them, NOT by their armor colors, but the orange/blue life bars above them, i play BF4 and i dont have a hard time identifying the enemy (if that is the purpose of having different colors), and they have all kind of camouflages.

So it is possible we could have our own colors? Having One-color/ bi-color schemes would make customization far more interesting than it is now, or at least in NEUTRAL colors. And unlocking color schemes is also one big NOTHING to me, i really dont like any of them, i rather have a color-wheel instead. Make the Engravings and steel-types something to unlock, not armor colors!

PS: i realy want an all-black armor :/

Well, I agree, as long as the floating symbols are properly visible, I see no point in such harsh color restrictions either.

As for the black armor, I hope they will add more material colors to unlock, I really don't understand why they added materials that were from earlier time periods when humans couldn't make anything better. Those metals were way softer.

While this is technically true (neutral, attacker, defender), the palettes within them do get a bit more varied the more you unlock. I understand the frustration with having pre-determined schemes to pick from, and some time ago, I suggested that they do the colour customisation the way Rocket League does.

I still think that's the best way to go, but at this point, I'm not sure if they'd be willing or able to change it, so we may be stuck with the current selection.

I agree. The actual colour options should be available from the beginning.

Based on how they talked about these things in videos, I think they just want to keep a certain amount of realism and immersion with keeping each team in a certain color, and I am all for it. I just wish they kept that mindset more consistently.

All I wanna bump in to say is: A certain color scheme you'll unlock at renown 5 is the best one I've seen. Best. One. Ever!
So I'd not worry about it since we'll be having a lot of options to choose from. It'll be K.

guys what about neutral colors used in duels? i could have an all black armor and so could my enemy, i dont have a "enemyidentity" problem in that situation, i know im not fighting myself xD ill be fighting the other guy.

Its like me and IntCel said: as long as you see the floating bar above your enemy, there is no real reason to restrict colors. You wont have a problem identifying the enemy, as long as its this the purpose of having match colors, which i think it is. If it has a different purpose, pls enlighten my mind

As for some of you saying that they would want us to feel more "immersive" with all members of the team wearing the same color, just ask them about faction vs faction feature, feature that is totally immersive but its not in the game. Whats the point of having color synergy while your team is made of 3 different factions?? Just something to think about

Don't forget that colour schemes will help to make the game much more enjoyable for spectators (speaking about Dominion). If you hope for an e-sport Future for ForHonor, you should support it.

I guess schemes are obsolete in the duel mode, they could allow for more freedom there. But if they do, be prepared to run into a lot of muscular vikings with pink-white-neongreen wolfskins and chainmail.
I am quite happy with the way it is

They do have legitimate neutral colours. It's just that you can select every colour scheme within the 'neutral colours' section, so they sort of get lost in the menu.

Its like me and IntCel said: as long as you see the floating bar above your enemy, there is no real reason to restrict colors. Unless they actually allow you to disable the HUD. Then the only way to identify people would be their armour colour.

It also allows for quicker identification to see someone in blue armour running at your character in orange and presume that person's going to attack you, rather than have someone in purple armour running at your character in black.

I often delineate friend from foe by the colours they're wearing, and the only time I even notice the little shield icon on their life bar is when scanning the map to see where I need to go next (and then I rarely actually see the player), because I rarely look at players' life bars when fighting them, because there are more important things to focus on. Allowing for neutral colours in team modes would only add an extra layer of confusion to an already chaotic environment.

As for some of you saying that they would want us to feel more "immersive" with all members of the team wearing the same color, just ask them about faction vs faction feature, feature that is totally immersive but its not in the game. This is actually an argument in favour of team colours. You need some sort of uniform to identify your team vs the enemy team.

Were the factions actually locked, I could see the argument being more reasonable, since it would be very difficult to mistake a Knight for a Viking or a Viking for a Samurai, since their armour designs, weapons, and even simple silhouettes are entirely different from one another.

It's an entirely different dynamic if you're playing on a team with a Berserker, and the other team has a Berserker, since even with the little shield icon above their head, you might mistake an enemy for a friend because you were heading to point A, saw them out of the corner of your eye, and ignored them because you had other things to think about, and then you get hit in the back.
