I am wondering, if I would be able to play the game without subtitles in survival mode? Is there content, which I could not understand without subtitles? My goal is to have a more immersive experience - how easy or hard is it to make sense of the wenja language over time? Did you guys get better to understand it without to read the subtitles? In a way I am looking for hud settings, which are minimal without to take away the ability to understand what is going on, but which do not distract me from staying focused.
I play with 2nd chance survival and any unnecessary distraction by the hud is unwanted and could cost me my life. So far I had an amazing experience (just my 2nd day into the game though), but I would be happy, if I would not have to see subtitles on the screen when I am talking to wenja. Their gestures are not always telling, but my hope is, that I might be able to make a good guess about what they are trying to tell me over time. I have learnt to understand a real life foreign language just by listening to it before (but I am not able to speak it, tbh), so my question is basically, how likely is it, to understand wenja to a point, that I do not need to use subtitles?- Can it be played like this at all successfully?
I found a couple of websites which are dedicated to PIE and the wenja language. I read there, that there has been an add-on with the collector's edition, kind of a guide or an e-book. Is this somewhere available from Ubisoft as a separate download and if, what does it cost and where to get it? I find this language somewhat fascinating and I start to pick up some words and a few phrases, which I seem to understand intuitively and from it's context, but when I try to reproduce them, I just cannot remember them strangely enough - an e-book about the language would be really helpful.

Hi, Lysette88! Check out this blog. These are put together by (at least) one of the co-creators of the in-game languages, and the articles go really in-depth. Should work as a primer for you.
